‘Breaking Bad’ Cast Members Honor Mark Margolis Following His Passing

Actor Mark Margolis has died. The actor, best known for his roles in “Breaking Bad,” “Better Call Saul,” and 1983’s “Scarface” is 83.

The actor was surrounded by his family in New York City in his final moments. He was reportedly hospitalized at Mt. Sinai in New York, according to our report of his death. (via Various)

Margolis, perhaps best known for playing Hector Salamanca in “Breaking Bad,” had a theater background in his early professional years. “Breaking Bad,” which ran from 2008 to 2013 for five seasons, isn’t his only television credit. He guest starred on David Duchovny’s “The Affair,” “Gotham,” and “Californication.”

Several of Margolis’ “Breaking Bad” cast members have paid tribute to the late actor on social media, including Bryan Cranston, who played Walter White.

‘Breaking Bad’ Cast Tributes Mark Margolis

Cranston, 67, paid tribute to Margolis with an Instagram tribute. He’ll share photos of Margolis from “Breaking Bad,” as well as Cranston’s 2020 Showtime series, “Dear.” According to IMDB, Margolis starred in five episodes.

“I am deeply saddened today to learn of the passing of a friend,” Cranston began his tribute. “Mark Margolis is a very good actor and a beautiful human being. Fun and interesting off set, and (in the case of ‘Breaking Bad’ and ‘Dear One’) terrifying and terrifying on set,” continued Cranston. “His calm energy belies his mischievous nature and inquisitive mind… and he loves to share a good joke. I already miss it. Rest now, Mark and thank you for your friendship and amazing work,” he concluded.

Actor Dean Norris wrote his condolences on Twitter. Norris plays Hank Schrader, Walter’s brother-in-law, who finds himself between a rock and a hard place many times in the series due to his work as a DEA agent.

Norris tweeted, “So sad to hear Mark Margolis has passed away. A phenomenal actor. Funny man. TORN My thoughts are with his family”

Bob Odenkirk, best known for his role as Saul Goodman in both “Breaking Bad” and “Better Call Saul” will join Norris in tweeting tributes to his former X co-star.

Odenkirk, who suffered a heart attack in 2021, wrote, “Powerful screen presence! Margolis’ ‘Better Call Saul’ Costars Also Pay Tribute To The Actor

Michael Mando, best known for his role as Nacho in “Better Call Saul” also posted a heartfelt tribute to his co-star on Instagram.

Alongside a photo of himself kissing Margolis on the cheek, he wrote, “It is with a heavy heart that I process your passing my friend… Mark, knowing you for seasons and years has been one of the most enriching. my career experience,” continued Mando. “You have deepened my understanding of this art form- your no BS attitude has deepened my understanding of life and what matters. The last thing you said to me before I got off the honey wagon in S6 was, ‘I really don’t want to like your character… but I do.” I can’t tell you how much that means to me… you are a legend and a soul strong and beautiful,” he continued. “I cried and had no words but LOVE ?,” he concluded.

Max Arciniega, who did a double by appearing in both series, took X to post a photo of himself and Margolis off camera. He wrote, “It was an honor to share the screen with this powerhouse, and an honor to hear the stories he shared about his family and career. Rest in peace, Don Hector,” Arciniega concluded. Margolis manager Robert Kolker will issue a statement on Friday.

Kolker called his client “one of a kind. We’ll never see the likes of him again. He’s a valued client and lifelong friend. I’m lucky to have known him,” he wrote. Kolker has represented Margolis since 2007. (per The Blast)
