“Succession” star Brian Cox recently admitted that despite his booming success, he still lives in fear of becoming poor again because of his impoverished past. The famous actor won a Golden Globe award two years ago for his performance in the hit drama series, “Succession.”
By his own admission, Cox is now the most famous since he began his decade-long career. Besides “Succession,” the actor has acted in movies like “Troy,” “Braveheart,” “Man Hunter,” “Red,” “The Bourne Identity,” and several others.
Although his career was successful and at the peak of success, Cox revealed that his poor childhood made it difficult for him. He reportedly grew up in a poor environment, and therefore, the actor admits that he lives every day, fearing that he could fall back into poverty.

Cox is currently screening a new documentary that focuses on the complex relationship between wealth and money in society. The series, dubbed “How The Other Half Live,” will be divided into three parts and begin airing on Thursday. Cox will examine the growing wealth gap around the world, particularly in places like the United States and the UK
Cox’s inquiry turned inward, and he saw himself again at eight o’clock in his Dundee home. The actor revealed that his father’s early death from pancreatic cancer was the catalyst that plunged the entire family into poverty.
In this series, the actor “Troy” will visit the houses of the upper class and also the lower class. The footage includes clips from soup kitchens and food banks, which show how the cost-of-living crisis has pushed several million people into poverty.

Through Mirror, Cox revealed that his memories of living with little left him uncomfortable with money. The actor said that he was always afraid of returning to his poor status.
The Scottish actor recalled a point in his childhood when he saw his mother, who at one point saw him use her last £10, a memory that “hangs on him for the rest of his life.” Cox said, “I still have the fear that everything will be taken away, and I will end up in poverty again. It never leaves you.”
“It’s like a Damoclean sword that hangs over you for the rest of your life,” continued the actor. “I never felt it when I was young; I was young and just getting on with it; I really survived. But when I got older, I would look at that boy and think, my God, he survived; how did he do it? And it’s still a mystery to me.”

Cox went on to share that he saw money as his “own personal demon” and that after his father died, his family became destitute. The actress explained that her mother had a widow’s pension to lean on, and it ran out before the end of the week.
“So I’d go to the fish and chip shop and ask if they had any leftovers – the bits of batter in the bottom of the fryer – and bring them home for us to eat,” Cox continued. “I had a very happy life until my father died. He would hold me over a coal bunker and have me do an Al Jolson impersonation. It was my first stage.”
The actress described her late father as “very sweet and kind and a real socialist.” He recalled the time an old man approached him and spoke of his father, describing him as a very “good” and “loving” man. “I just thought, what a beautiful legacy he left behind,” said Cox.
Brian Cox Says Money Is ‘World’s Tragedy’

Cox revealed that he considers money a “world tragedy” and feels wealth in the 1 percent has become more concentrated while the rest of the world suffers.
“When you play one of the richest men in the world, you live that life for nine months of the year where you’re in a kind of cocoon, and I feel like there’s an inequality that needs to be addressed,” the actor said. per Online Mail. “So this series comes from what I grew up with and what I saw, being lower middle class and having a pretty happy childhood until my father died.”
“A lot of people don’t have the means to achieve any kind of standard of living for themselves. Money is the tragedy of the world,” Cox added.
