Gabby Petito’s parents have scored another legal victory!
Attorneys who once represented Brian Laundrie’s parents, Chris and Roberta Laundrie, could be included in a lawsuit filed by Joseph Petito and Nichole Schmidt.
A Florida judge recently approved Petito and Schmidt’s request to add Steven Bertolino to their lawsuit against the Laundries.

The lawsuit was filed by Gabby’s parents earlier this year and it claims Dobi knew more about her death and that their son, Brian, killed her.
The lawsuit also claims Dobi knew where his body was hidden, but refused to talk and that they helped Brian arrange a way to flee the country.
Bertolino’s September 14, 2021, statement on behalf of the Laundries is key evidence at the heart of Petito and Schmidt’s lawsuit.

The statement he shared expressed hope that Gabby would be found alive and reunited with her parents.
The statement was made five days before Gabby’s body was found in Grand Teton National Park.
Petito and Schmidt’s attorney, Pat Reilly, told WFLA“It is believed that at the time the September 14, 2021 statement was issued, Dobi and Steven Bertolino knew that Gabby Petito had died and that, under the circumstances, the statement was insensitive, cold-hearted and outrageous.”

Gabby’s parents are “delighted” that Judge Danielle Brewer granted their request to amend their lawsuit to add Bertolino.
Per WFLAReport, Reilly said, “They’ve been through a lot. They had to listen to many statements made by Mr. Bertolino on behalf of the family, statements that sometimes hurt their hearts. Therefore, they believe that by bringing Mr. Bertolino in, they will finally get justice for what happened.”
In an interview with Fox News Digital, Reilly said, “The results were not unexpected. This incident, like all others, will work out in the end. One way or another.”

Laundrie confessed to killing her fiancé in a series of notebook entries.
The killer also sent text messages between his cell phone and Petito in the days after he was strangled to death.
This was his attempt “to deceive law enforcement by giving the impression that Ms. Petito was alive,” the Denver FBI said in its latest investigative update.

The FBI opened an investigation into Gabby’s disappearance on September 12, 2021, after her mother reported her missing on September 11.
On September 19, 2021, Gabby’s remains were placed at the Spread Creek Campground in Wyoming.
According to the investigation report, “Ms. Petito was found about three weeks after his last known communication.”
The Teton County Coroner’s Office concluded that Gabby died of “blunt force trauma to the head and neck, by manual strangulation.”
