After years of being in a relationship, Brie Larson is back on the market.
The famous star of the Marvel Cinematic Universe seems to confirm the rumors that she and her long-term boyfriend, Elijah Allan-Blitz, have broken up. The former couple were first spotted together about six months after Larson broke off her engagement to musician Alex Greenwald.
The Emmy Award-winning director and the “Captain Marvel” actor then attended the 92nd Annual Academy Awards, where they couldn’t keep their eyes off each other, in February 2020.

Just over three years after Larson and Allan-Blitz went public with their romance, they are single again. The gender equality activist shared the shocking news during a recent interview which saw her clarify her future plans.
“I have no next job. I don’t have a house. I don’t have a partner. I don’t have a plan. I’m just completely open,” the “13 Going on 30” star told Harper’s Bazaar for the April issue.

While the Oscar winner didn’t discuss the “horrific” details behind her breakup with the “Come With Me Child” singer, she did reflect on how her worldview changed when she entered her thirties a few years ago.
The Screen Actors Guild Award winner revealed that she “had all the same normal fears as everyone else” about being a single woman at 30,” sometimes asking herself, “What do I want? How [sic] a family and a future that fits my strange life?”
Rumors of Larson and Allan-Blitz being romantically linked began after they were caught kissing on camera in July 2019 — nearly six months after the 33-year-old broke up with Greenwald. Although the two parties did not go public with their relationship at the time, they later walked the red carpet together, as noted above.
In the same year, Larson and the star of “Miami Dead County” worked together on the series “The Messy Truth VR Experience” earned a Primetime Emmy award in the ‘outstanding original interactive program category.’
The couple’s latest appearance in public happened when they attended the D23 expo last September to promote the short film “Remembering.” The film – another collaborative effort between them – came about when both felt they needed to be creative. Explaining the process in an interview, the “Scott Pilgrim vs. The World” actor stated:
“It’s an epidemic, and we have to be creative. We have watched movies from our childhood and dig all these things. One day, Elijah came into the office, and I think it was like 20 minutes, but maybe an hour; he has this whole concept.”

Shortly after Larson and Greenwald’s relationship ended, a source contacted her PEOPLE with some tea, claiming, “They’ve taken a step back from their engagement for now, but they’re still close.”
Although they keep the highlights of their relationship private, fans are aware of the couple’s odd content on social media. For example, the former couple shared that Greenwald sang his ex-wife’s song for their 29th anniversary in 2018.
A friend joined the “Bad News Bears” cast for the performance, which Larson shared a clip of on her Instagram Story. After the musical duo finished their performance, the “Running Wild with Bear Grylls” guest star said with a laugh:
“That was the most beautiful ‘Happy Birthday’ I’ve ever heard.”
The couple’s relationship has also been filled with event attendance, including the 2016 Oscars, where the “Short Term 12” actress received the Best Actress award for her portrayal of Joy “Ma” Newsome in “Room.” She also gave a shout out to her lover when accepting the award, stating:
“Jacob Tremblay, my partner, is going through all of this in every possible way. My real mate, Alex Greenwald, I love you.”
The “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” star also gushed about her man supporting her aspirations during the interview, praising him as her “person” and “best friend.” Larson said yes to Greenwald’s proposal in May 2016 following their several years together.
