“Crossroads” was written by Shonda Rhimes of “Grey’s Anatomy” fame and directed by Tamra Davis. The film is about three childhood friends: Lucy (Britney Spears), Kit (Zoë Saldana), and Mimi (Taryn Manning). After eight years apart, the three rediscover their friendship on a cross-country trip. “Crossroads” originally premiered in 2002 and grossed $61 million worldwide despite negative reviews at the time.
“I recently rewatched ‘Crossroads’ and was blown away by the nostalgic time capsule this incredible ensemble cast brought to the screen,” director Tamra Davis said in a statement. “Britney was absolutely fascinating to watch, and Shonda showed us her early expertise in writing complex female characters. We had the best time in the world making this picture and the connection the actors brought to their performances showed in every frame. I’m so grateful for ‘Crossroads’ will be available so people can see Britney shine again.”
