Pop star Britney Spears has accused her father, Jamie Spears, of molesting one of his sons in her memoir “The Woman In Me.”

Although the now 41-year-old pop star has accused her father of abuse during her 13-year conservatorship, which lasted from February 2008 to November 2021, she also claims that he abused her son, Sean Preston.

Britney Spears was married to Kevin Federline from 2004 to 2007. The two share two children together: Sean Preston, 18, and Jayden James, 17. On Friday, a source told Us Weekly that, in her memoir, “The Woman In Me, ” Britney accused her father of assaulting her son during an argument in August 2019. At the time, Sean was only 13 years old.

“My son went to lock himself in the bedroom to end the fight, and my dad broke down the door and shook him,” Britney wrote. “Kevin filed a police report, and my dad was banned from seeing the kids.”

At the time, a source told Us Weekly that K-Fed had requested a restraining order against Britney’s father, which was granted. The insider went on to say that Jamie was banned from seeing Sean and Jayden for three years. A second insider told the outlet that “the whole incident was very upsetting for him and his son. Kevin was and still is angry.” The source went on to say that although “Preston was not physically injured,” he was still “very scared and shocked.”

At the time, Ventura County District Attorney Gregory D. Totten told Radar Online that Jamie was never charged with a crime because there was “insufficient evidence” that the incident had occurred.

In excerpts of her memoir released by People magazine, the “Overprotected” singer said she felt like a “shadow” of herself after admitting the amount of control her father and friends had over her during her 13 years of conservatorship.

“Thirteen years passed with me feeling like a shadow of myself. I think back now about my father and his friends controlling my body and my money all that time and it makes me sick,” she wrote.

“Think of how many male artists gamble all their money away; how many have substance abuse or mental health problems. No one is trying to take away their control over their bodies and their money,” she continued, adding, “I don’t deserve what my family did to me.”

She also explained that control over her own body was the reason she shaved her head in 2007. “I’ve been the eyeball so much growing up, I’ve been looked up and down, if people tell me what they think of my body, since I was teenagers Shaving my head and acting is my way of rejecting,” he wrote in another excerpt published by People magazine.

However, once he was placed under conservatorship, he no longer had control over his appearance. “But under the conservatorship, I understood that those days were now over. I had to grow my hair out and get back into shape,” she wrote. “I had to go to bed early and take whatever medicine they told me to take.”

Her father also contributed to her embarrassing body. “If I think being criticized about my body in the press is bad, it hurts more than my own father. He repeatedly told me I looked fat and I needed to do something about it,” she wrote.

“Feeling like you’re never good enough is a soul-crushing situation for a child,” she continued. “He passed that message on to me as a girl, and even after I had accomplished so much, he continued to do so to me.”

He later said that being in conservatory made him feel like a “robot” and contributed to the death of his creativity. “If they let me live my life, I know I will follow my heart and get out of this the right way and get it over with,” he wrote.

Britney Spears’ memoir “The Woman In Me” is scheduled to be released on Tuesday, October 24, 2023.
