Singer Britney Spears has spoken out after she was reportedly assaulted by members of Victor Wembanyama’s security forces.
The 41-year-old pop star was about to have dinner at the Catch restaurant at the ARIA Hotel with her husband, Iranian actor Sam Asghari, and two others when she noticed the San Antonio Spurs player was also approaching the restaurant with his entourage. Initial reports stated that Britney was trying to pat herself on the back when she was allegedly slapped by the Director of Team Security for the San Antonio Spurs so hard that she fell.
The “Hold Me Closer” singer has filed a police report, naming Damian Smith as a security guard. While law enforcement officials continue to investigate the incident, Britney addressed the matter on Instagram to assure her fans that, while she appreciates their support, she was “not prepared” for what happened to her on Wednesday night.

In her Instagram Story, the “Stronger” singer began: “Traumatic experiences are nothing new to me and I’ve had my fair share of them. I was not prepared for what happened to me last night.” He later gave fans his version of events.
“I recognized an athlete in the lobby of my hotel when I was on my way to dinner. I then went to a restaurant in another hotel and met him again,” he explained. “I decided to approach him and congratulate him on his success. It was really loud, so I tapped him on the shoulder to get his attention.”
Although Victor previously claimed that he “cummed” on her from behind, Britney insists that he simply tapped her on the shoulder, as early reports suggested. “I am aware of the players [sic] statement where he said ‘I grabbed him from behind’ but I just patted him on the shoulder,” he wrote. “His security then handed me my face without looking back, in front of the crowd. Almost knocked me over and caused my glasses to come off my face. “
“I was surrounded by people all the time. Actually that night. I was surrounded by a group of at least 20 fans. My security team didn’t hit any of them,” Britney said. Earlier reports had indicated that the pop star was mobbed by fans as he entered the casino, but as he stated, there were no incidents with his security detail.

Britney went on to say that the incident was embarrassing for her, but expressed her support for other victims of physical violence, noting that the world seems to be getting more violent by the day.
“This story is too embarrassing to share with the world but it is [sic] already out there,” wrote Britney. “However, I feel it is important to share this story and urge people in public to set an example and treat everyone with respect. Physical violence is too much in this world. Often behind closed doors. I stand with all the victims and my heart goes out to all of you!!”
Britney later revealed that she never received an apology from Victor or the organization. “I have yet to receive a public apology from the players, their security or their organization,” he wrote, adding, “I hope they will…”
She ended her post by thanking her fans, writing, “I appreciate the immense love and support I have received during this time. Thanks to the Las Vegas PD and detectives for their support.” He closed his post with four red heart emojis.

UPDATE: An hour after he posted his statement on his Instagram Stories and Twitter, the “Lucky” singer took to Instagram to share another statement that was mostly identical to his first statement, except with the addition of one paragraph.
“I don’t appreciate it either and I don’t think it’s a laughing matter. Seeing the player smile and laugh is cruel and demoralizing with the situation,” he wrote. “I’m 5’3 and he’s 7’4…”

On Thursday evening, the Iranian actor also took to his Instagram Stories to share his statement.
“I am against violence of any kind, especially without justification in self-defense or others who cannot defend themselves,” Sam began. “Self-defense is inevitable, but the womanhood of any woman, especially my wife, cannot be disputed. I consider my reaction weak considering what happened, and I hope the man learns a lesson and changes his disregard for women. Thank you for the support.”

He followed it up with a second slide, which read, “The violent behavior of an out-of-control security guard should not overshadow the achievements of a great young man on the rise @wemby,” he continued. “The blame should fall on the cowards who did this, the people who hired them without proper vetting, and the systemic culture that ignores women in sports and entertainment.”
“I can’t imagine a scenario where an unarmed female fan showing any kind of excitement or appreciation for a celebrity would result in her being physically attacked, much less punched in the face for patting someone on the shoulder,” he concluded. “Necessary change has to come for the summit, and I look forward to that change.”
