Pop star Britney Spears has finally broken her silence on her first husband, Jason Alexander.
The Pop princess and her childhood friend were married for just 55 hours in 2004 before it was quickly called off by her parents. In her memoir, she decided to open up about a drunken night together in Las Vegas that led to her first marriage.

Britney Spears has been married three times. In an excerpt from “The Woman In Me’ published by Time, Britney admitted that “She and I had a face-to-face” before they decided to tie the knot. She wrote, “I don’t remember that night at all, but from what I gather , he and I lounged around the hotel room and stayed up late watching movies … then had the bright idea to go to A Little White Chapel at half past three in the morning.”
He also dismissed the idea that the two had feelings for each other, insisting that they decided to do it only because they were “bored” at the time. “People ask if I love him. To be clear: he and I were not in love,” he wrote. “To be honest I was very drunk – and probably, in a more general sense at that time in my life, very bored.”

Although he said he didn’t take the marriage “seriously,” his family certainly did. “They made a big deal out of innocent fun,” Britney wrote. “Everyone has a different perspective on it, but I don’t take it too seriously. I think a wedding in Vegas is something people probably do as a joke.”
“Then my family came and acted like I had started World War III. I cried the whole time I was in Las Vegas,” he continued. “I realized: something about me being under their control and not having a stronger relationship with other people had become very, very important to them.”

According to Page Six, Jason Alexander once claimed that Britney had the idea of getting married after they “did drugs” together. “He just came out and asked me. He was like, ‘Okay, let’s get married.’ And I was like, ‘Sure. You know, let’s do this,’” she recalled, saying that she was driven by love. “I went with my gut,” he recalls. “I fell in love with him. … I think he feels the same way.”
Jason claims that he only signed the annulment papers because he hoped his family would allow them to stay in touch. Unfortunately for her, Britney went on to marry Kevin Federline just a few months later. They welcomed two sons, Sean Preston, 18, and Jayden James, 17. The couple split in 2007.

In 2016, Britney met actor Sam Asghari on the set of his “Slumber Pary” music video. The two got engaged in September 2021, two months before her controversial 13-year conservatorship was annulled in November 2021. The two tied the knot in June 2022, but unfortunately, Jason tried to annul the marriage.
In June 2022, a judge arrested the Louisiana native on one count of felony stalking with prior enhancements and special that he be on probation or parole, and three misdemeanor counts of trespassing, vandalism and battery. He was also charged with stalking because of a previous domestic violence conviction.

A few months later, in a September 2022 interview with the Daily Mail, Jason said that he did not believe that Britney would actually get married. “This is all for show. Hollywood script,” Jason said of the couple’s wedding. “I don’t think he looks happy. It was all unreal.”
“I can’t let him get married with our conversations over the past two years,” he told the outlet. “I’m not there to cause harm. I was just there to Talk to Britney and make sure she was okay, and this is what she wanted.”
Unfortunately, Sam Asghari filed for divorce on August 16, 2023, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split. The two recently finalized a custody agreement over their five dogs.
