Singer Britney Spears has just announced that her new memoir, “The Woman In Me,” will be on bookshelves on October 24, 2023. However, there is one traumatic incident that is not included in the new book.
Last week, the “Hold Me Closer” singer was slapped by a security guard for the San Antonio Spurs, who was traveling with 19-year-old French athlete Victor Wembanyama. The 41-year-old pop star spotted the NBA star walking outside the Catch restaurant at the ARIA Hotel in Las Vegas and went over to ask for a photo.
After he tapped her on the shoulder, the security guard “backhanded” her face, knocking the glasses off her face. Surveillance footage of the incident quickly went viral, though law enforcement officials said the security guard would not face any charges for the incident.
On Tuesday night, following the announcement of her highly anticipated memoir, Britney shared three videos on her Instagram page. Two of the videos promote his new memoir, while the third discusses the blow that happened last week.
Britney Spears Faces Slap From Security Guard: ‘No Woman Deserves To Be Hit’
On Tuesday night, Britney stepped in front of the cameras in her living room wearing a long-sleeved floral top, khaki skirt and brown boots instead of the pointy white boots she usually wears when she dances. She tied her long blonde hair back and hooked her thumbs into the waist of her skirt as she spoke.
“Hi, so I want to share with you an incident that happened in Vegas that a lot of people are talking about,” Britney began. “And I heard on the news, this radio station, talking trash, and talking s—, and that’s why I dealt with it.”
He said that the radio station claimed that he “deserved a beating.” According to Britney, the radio station claims that “Security is doing their job” and “protecting their customers.” Britney went on to say, “I’ve been with the most famous people in the world – NSYNC at one point – girls really want to throw themselves at them.”
“On my way to the place, actually, I got bumped by, like, three 12-year-olds trying to get my picture,” Britney revealed. “My safety is never to touch them or go near them.”

“I mean, I don’t appreciate people who say I deserve to be beaten because no woman deserves to be beaten. I just patted him on the back. I was hit in the back, hit in my face, and back on the floor. My best friend picked me up and held me.”
“And, um, I got an apology,” Britney went on to say, as she had stated in her earlier statement on Instagram that she didn’t get an apology from Victor, the security guards, or the organization representing the security forces. He revealed that he got an apology at his desk thirty minutes after the slap happened, probably from a security guard.
“But I still haven’t received a public apology,” Britney added. “And that’s it.”

Over the weekend, Victor Wembanyama was surrounded by fans while he was in Las Vegas for NBA Con. According to video footage obtained by TMZ, he is still using the same security team, and possibly the same security guard, who “beat up” Britney Spears. Although he was surrounded by fans, fortunately no one else was injured.
However, the video shows some fans shouting questions at him. A fan asked if he had any plans to apologize to the pop star for what happened in Las Vegas, but he didn’t answer and headed for the exit.
“In the past month, I think basketball was less than 50% of my schedule. I can’t stand it. I know it was a special moment in my life, but I’m glad it’s over. I just want a loop.”

However, the media attention may be too much for the 19-year-old to handle. In a video shared by Tomer Azerly on Twitter, Wembanyama stated that he wanted to “disappear from the media,” adding, “In the past month, I think basketball was not 50% of my schedule. I can’t stand it. I know it was a special moment in my life, but I’m glad it’s over … I just want to play.”
