Cade Hudson, manager and longtime friend of pop star Britney Spears denied that he had anything bad to say about the “Saturday Night Live” skit that parodied her memoir, “The Woman In Me.”

Last Saturday, in the first episode after the SAG-AFTRA strike ended, comedian Chloe Fineman played Britney Spears and invited another celebrity (played by another comedian) to audition for the role of telling her memoir. In fact, Britney’s memoir was recorded by actress Michelle Williams.

In an Instagram comment posted Sunday by a Britney Spears fan account, her longtime friend and manager Cade Hudson appeared to defend her as she called out a “Saturday Night Live” skit about her memoir, “The Woman In Me.”

“Wow. @SNL writers are getting worse,” Cade Hudson allegedly wrote on Instagram. “No wonder you guys are calling me to get Britney on the show… snl is on life support. You all are pathetic and Chloe this is not funny. Did you find it on Craiglist or something?”

In the three-minute skit, Chloe, who plays the “Toxic” singer, gushes about the release of her memoir while giving fans a “sneak peek” at the celebrity auditions for the book’s voiceover, which included a reading from Allison Janney (Heidi Gardner), Martin Scorcese (Timothée Chalamet), John Mulaney (Sarah Sherman), Fred Schneider (Bowen Yang) B52s and Jada Pinkett Smith (Ego Nwodim).

Cade Hudson denounced the previous statement as "fake news," add, "I can't believe I have to post this... I didn't comment or make a statement about Britney's SNL skit. One of my client's fan sites made a Meme and posted it causing the real media to pick it up because they thought it was real and something I actually posted." He concluded, "SNL is the best and Chloe is hilarious."Instagram Stories | Cade Hudson

However, Cade Hudson later took to his Instagram Stories to deny that he ever made such a statement in a new post that began circulating from a Cade Hudson fan account.

The longtime music manager slammed the previous statement as “fake news,” adding, “Can’t believe I have to post this… I didn’t comment or make a statement about Britney’s SNL skit. One of my client’s fan sites made a Meme and posted it causing media real took it because they thought it was real and something I actually posted.” He concluded, “SNL is the best and Chloe is hilarious.”

While Britney Spears herself has yet to comment on the “SNL” sketch controversy, many of her fans took to social media to share their own feelings about Chloe Fineman’s portrayal of the Princess of Pop.

One user used X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, to slam last week’s episode of “Saturday Night Live” as well, attaching a three-minute sketch of Chloe portraying Britney in their post.

“Shame on #SNL,” wrote one user. “Everything [about] last night’s episode was disgusting. First, Timothée made fun of the #IsraelPalestineWar, then they made fun of Britney Spear’s memoir #TheWomanInMe as if she didn’t suffer enough. F— #SaturdayNightLive.”

Many users voiced their agreement with the user and stated that “SNL” was either “too far” or “not funny.” Despite this, some users did enjoy the skit, with one netizen calling it “hilarious”.

Britney Spears’ Memoir May Be Turned Into A Movie

As The Blast previously reported, many different celebrities are vying for the rights to make “The Woman In Me” into a movie or other visual medium.

Celebrities such as Margot Robbie, Brad Pitt, Reese Witherspoon and Shonda Rhimes are just some of the names that have tried to buy the rights to Britney’s book.

According to The Ankler, the bidding range is in the “mid-eight-figure range” for the book, although it appears Britney, 41, is in no rush to sell the rights to her life story and has reportedly rescheduled meetings with top producers.

Last month, ahead of the release of her memoir, the “Overprotected” singer told People magazine that she was relieved to finally be able to tell her story on her own terms. “For the past 15 years or even at the beginning of my career, I sat while people talked about me and told my story for me,” he wrote in an email interview. “After getting out of my conservatorship, I was finally free to tell my story without consequences from the people in charge of my life.”
