Lynne Spears previously worked as a teacher and also ran a daycare center in Kentwood, Louisiana, before her daughter became an international star.

On Tuesday, sources told the Daily Mail that she was struggling financially and had taken a part-time substitute teacher position at a local school to supplement her income.

“He’s struggling to pay his bills, but he’s made up some classes at [a local school],” a source told the outlet, who said that substitute teachers in the area typically earn around $15 dollars an hour.

Lynne currently lives in a $2 million mansion that her daughter built in 2001. The insider claims that Lynne’s money problems are due to their complicated relationship, claiming that the rift has “taken a toll” on her finances.

He also no longer owns his own property, as in the shop. In 2021, he sold Britney’s childhood home for a reported $275,000.

Britney has publicly accused her mother of failing to support her during her conservatorship, which lasted from February 2008 to November 2021. During that time, Britney’s personal and financial affairs were largely controlled by her father, Jamie Spears.

Things didn’t get better between Britney and her mother after her conservatorship ended, when Lynne asked the court to force Britney’s estate to pay $660,000 in legal bills for her conservatorship attorneys, Yasha Bronshteyn and Gladstone N. Jones III, whom she said she hired to “save her daughter” from ” his father’s incredibly abusive actions.”

In April 2022, Britney’s attorney, Mathew Rosengart, contested the claim, arguing, “There is no legal authority to support Lynne’s claim that she should be able to collect funds from her daughter’s estate.”

Court documents further reveal that Rosengart claims the “Toxic” singer has spent about $1.7 million on her mother over the years. He claims that Lynne has “for at least a decade lived in a large, spacious house owned by Britney,” which “pays for Lynne Spears’ utilities, phone service, insurance, property taxes, landscaping, pool work, pest control, repairs and maintenance . . ,” according to the legal filing.

In court documents obtained by The Blast in October of the same year, Lynne withdrew her $660,000 claim. Sources told the outlet that he did so in hopes of improving his relationship with his daughter.

“This is the final nail in the coffin for Lynne,” the insider said. “He can’t fight with Britney anymore and he knows that asking her to pay a half million dollar lawyer bill is not right, given what Britney has been through.”

“Not only that, but Lynne is really trying to mend her relationship with Britney,” they added. “Taking more money out of it is not the way to do it.”

Although Britney reportedly “approved” of her sister Jamie Lynn Spears joining the cast of “Dancing With The Stars” this season, several sources say they are still on the fence amid the pop star’s divorce from actor Sam Asghari.

Shortly after the actress filed for divorce on Aug. 16, a source told Page Six that the pop star is still not “on good terms with her family” despite meeting them earlier this summer. “His meeting with his mom, it’s going well, but there’s still a lot of hurt there, so they haven’t quite reconciled,” the source said. “Britney is still very angry with Jamie Lynn too.”

Later in the day, another insider told TMZ that the “Mind Your Business” singer is still “estranged” from her family and isn’t talking to them. A source told the outlet: “He has one confidante, [her manager] Cade [Hudson]. Then there’s his security team, and after that, his support system falls off the cliff.”
