There’s good news for fans who didn’t get a chance to see the Britney Spears-inspired musical “Once Upon A One More Time” on Broadway.
Although the pop star is not featured in the drama, it is based on some of her hit songs, such as “Oops!… I Did It Again” and “Toxic.” Unfortunately, the audience failed to fill the seats and Broadway announced that the play would be closed.
Fortunately, there’s good news for fans looking to watch the fairytale drama based on the pop star’s music. Sources have revealed that there is a national tour in the works, to bring Britney’s music to a theater near you!

Sadly, the musical “Once Upon A One More Time” will make its final Broadway performance on September 3. The drama tells the story of a fairy tale princess who seeks enlightenment and features some of Britney’s hit songs. The play began preview performances at the Marquis Theater on May 13 and officially opened on June 22.
Unfortunately, the show failed to impress critics and audiences failed to fill the seats. The Hollywood Reporter notes that less than fifty percent of the seats have been filled for the past seven weeks. During the week of August 13, the Broadway play had its lowest weekly gross ever, leading to the decision to close the production on September 3.
For what it’s worth, Britteny did approve of the musical and promoted it on Instagram when it first came out. The musical is also notable because it was one of the first deals she signed after a judge overturned her conservatorship in November 2021. In other words, it was one of the first major decisions about her career that Britney made on her own.

Fortunately, producer James. L Nederlander and Hunter Arnold were determined to let the show go live. They revealed that the Broadway play will be turned into a national tour, with an international production in the works. This is not the first time the drama has been shown to a large audience, as it had its world premiere in Washington DC in November 2021.

On August 16, Sam Asghari filed for divorce citing “irreconcilable differences,” according to court documents obtained by The Blast. He listed the breakup date as July 28, 2023, implying that there had been trouble going on for some time.
The two tied the knot on June 9, 2022, but a source told Page Six that trouble started early on. “There were some funny moments when Britney giggled her way through the vows,” a source said. “But it was a fun wedding. Britney sat down with the wedding planner. He wanted a wall of flowers. He wants pink. He designed her clothes, and Donatella Versace flew to LA twice. He held a wedding rehearsal the day before.
