Pop star Britney Spears has opened up about many famous faces in her memoir “The Woman In Me.”
One person he couldn’t resist talking to was when he met “All I Want For Christmas Is You” singer Mariah Carey.

Britney Spears had a major fangirl moment more than two decades ago when she bumped into Mariah Carey. The two legendary singers first met at the 1999 MTV Video Music Awards and have been singing each other’s praises ever since.
In a quote released by the Daily Mail, Britney wrote, “At an award show I knocked [Mariah’s] dressing room door. He opened it, and out poured forth the most beautiful light of the world.”
“You know how people have ring lights? Over 20 years ago, only Mariah Carey knew about ring lights,” he gushed as he sang the diva’s praises.
Apparently the feeling was mutual, as the “We Belong Together” singer lent her iconic voice to the #FreeBritney movement months before her 13-year conservatorship ended in November of that year.

Following a public mental health breakdown in 2007, the “Toxic” singer was subjected to a suffocating 13-year conservatorship that lasted from February 2008 to November 2021.
That year, Mariah voiced her support for the Princess of Pop when speaking to E! News. “I think everyone on this planet deserves to be free,” he said at the time. “What they did [Britney]what I saw, it was terrible.”
The singer was actually so concerned about Britney that she reached out to the pop star through a mutual friend. “I want [Britney] to find out, ‘Guess what? You’re not alone,’” she recalls.
It seems the gentle gesture was duly noted, as Britney has made several mentions of Mariah on Instagram and even danced to some of her songs. In March 2023, the pop star also admitted to creating a fake music video set for Mariah’s hit song “Dreamlover.”
“My first fake video was Dreamlover by Mariah Carey outside in my mom’s heels walking through the park with an umbrella,” she wrote at the time, even saying her fake Dreamlover music video “was the worst thing I’ve ever seen in my life !”

In 2020, the “Oops!… I Did It Again” singer wished Mariah Carey a happy birthday and thanked her for inspiring her love of singing.

Fans immediately took to the comments to request the collaboration of the two singers. Although it hasn’t happened yet, fans are still hoping that the Princess of Pop will make a comeback!

In a statement posted to social media on Friday, Britney said she was hoping for a “clean slate” amid the release of her memoir, adding that she had “retired from the business” four years ago.
“The purpose of my book is not to offend anyone in any way !!! That was me then … that was the past!!!” he started “I don’t like the headlines I read…that’s why I quit the business 4 years ago!!! Most of the books are from 20 years ago … I’ve moved and it’s a pretty clean slate from here!!!”
“I’m here to set it that way for the rest of my life!!!” he continued. “Anyway, that was the last one and s— happened !! This is actually a book that didn’t know to write … although some may be offended, it has given me closure on all things for a better future !!!”
“Hopefully I can enlighten people who feel alone in most cases or hurt or misunderstood !!! Again, my motive for this book is not to quote my past experiences that the press did and it was stupid and stupid!!!” he concluded. “I’ve since moved on !! #TheWomaninMe.”
Britney Spears’ memoir “The Woman In Me” was officially released on Tuesday, October 24, 2023.
