Early reports indicated that Kevin Federline moved the former couple’s two teenage sons to Hawaii on August 1 because his wife, former volleyball player Victoria Prince, had been offered a job in the athletic department at a university in Hawaii. However, fans quickly took to online to claim that there was an ulterior motive at play.
In the state of Hawaii, child support can last until age 23, as long as the child is enrolled in an accredited college, university, vocational school, or trade school. However, a source told the Daily Mail on Tuesday, September 5, that Britney is “relieved” that she won’t have to pay K-Fed child support after Sean turns 18 on September 14.
“Britney is relieved that Sean turns 18 on September 14 because she’s tired of paying Kevin the ridiculous amount of money he’s been getting,” a source claims. “Britney is happy to help Sean and Jayden. There was nothing he wouldn’t do for his children. But this will go straight to them after they turn 18 and not Kevin.”

The outlet further noted that, in California, child support ends when a child graduates high school or when they turn 19, whichever comes first. While they noted that many thought that K-Fed would try to exploit the loophole and delay the termination of child support by moving to Hawaii, there is a catch. Like at the outlet:
“Under revised statute 576B-611 (2016) if child support is established in another state then the state where it is established has exclusive jurisdiction, stating orally: ‘In proceedings to modify a child support order, the law -specified state law has issued a preliminary control order governing the duration of the support obligation.’”
In other words, it appears that since the initial ruling was made in California, Britney’s child support payments to Sean will end on September 14th. However, the “Toxic” singer will still pay child support for Jayden until he turns 18 on September 12. , 2024.
