Singer Britney Spears has not seen her two sons for a long time, but apparently, they have connected with each other.
The “Mind Your Business” singer was married to ex-husband Kevin Federline from 2004 to 2007. The two share two children together: Sean Preston Federline, 17, and Jayden James Federline, 16. The two moved to Hawaii with their father on 1 August after his wife, Victoria, was offered a job in the sports department at a university in the state.
Although the two boys reportedly did not see their mother before the move, they were in contact with their mother several weeks before they left the state, according to K-Fed’s attorney.

According to Kevin Federline’s lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, Britney Spears got a chance to talk to her two teenage sons “maybe a few weeks ago,” even though they refused to meet their mother in person before getting on a plane and moving to Hawaii.
Kaplan told Page Six that he doesn’t know if Britney and her son have had any contact since they moved, especially with the wildfires ravaging Maui. Kaplan told the outlet that while the devastation has made the boys “very sad,” they are still “happy” to be living in Hawaii.
“[They are] not personally [affected], but there are people in the area who are dying and their homes are destroyed, so it’s very traumatic,” he said. “Obviously, at the moment, everyone is very sad about what happened there with the fire and the victims of the fire, but apart from the trauma of that, they are very happy to be there.”

Aside from news of the wildfires, Kaplan said the boys “love it there,” adding, “They’ve been there before they decided to move, but they’re very happy there.” He went on to say that the boys are still “excited” about the move, adding, “They live in heaven.”
Although he said the boys had some “trauma” about the bushfire, the two teenagers were “excited” to “build a future in a new environment, make new friends and explore new opportunities.”
Currently, Jayden is completing his classes remotely at his former school in Los Angeles. Preston will start school in Hawaii, though it’s unclear what the nearly 18-year-old will do next.

According to a recent Hulu special, “TMZ Investigates Britney Spears: The Price of Freedom,” things between Britney and her children were so bad that “By the end of the summer [2022], the tension became so bad that the boy did not reply to his messages. And he was angry,” according to TMZ producer Katie Hayes.
A source told Page Six at the time that the last time Britney saw her son in person was in “early 2022,” before she married Iranian actor Sam Asghari in June of that year. The “Toxic” singer and her son have publicly clashed after Jayden criticized his mother’s parenting in an interview with the Daily Mail.

“I think Mother has taken pains to pay attention and show the same love to us; I don’t think she showed enough to Preston, and I feel really bad for that,” Jayden told the Daily Mail in September 2022. To add fuel to the fire, Kevin Federline told the outlet that the boys were angry at their mother over the post. her social media, which often depicts the singer undressed.

In a deleted Instagram post after Jayden’s statement, Britney said that it was “so sad” to learn that Jayden said she “didn’t live up to the expectations of a mother.”
He went on to say, “Maybe one day we can meet face to face and talk about this openly!!!” However, it seems that is not yet the case.
