Brittany Mahomes has been named the 2024 Rookie for the 60th anniversary issue Sports Illustrated Swimsuit.
Unfortunately, the good news was not well received by many, who made sure to air their displeasure on social media. In response, the former footballer shared an uplifting message reminding his fans to ignore the noise and focus on themselves.
Brittany Mahomes Uses Sullen Pics To Cope With Negative Reception Of Her Big News
Barely 24 hours after Brittany posted a joint video with Sports Illustrated announcing that she was in Belize shooting “the new season with Sports Illustrated,” her comments were flooded with criticism.
While one person wondered, “Why is he in sports being portrayed,” another stated that the “bad taste” of Patrick Mahomes’ wife and “mother of small children” “put it all on display for the whole world to see.”
“But why? Never would have made the list if it wasn’t for her husband. She’s not sure of her qualifications,” a third troll asserted, as a fourth claimed, “I hope she thanks Pat because without her name, none of this would have happened.”
The barrage of negative reviews seems to have struck a chord with Brittany, who took to her Instagram story last Thursday to post a picture of herself in a red swimsuit. One piece features a large front cut that accentuates her figure.
Her blonde hair was styled in a messy look, with tendrils falling in front of her eyes. The 28-year-old put both hands on her head as she stared at the camera with hatred.

On the other side of the image, Brittany informed her 1.8 million followers, “I’m here to tell you. People will dislike you. People will love you. Don’t let any of those things define you KEEP SHINING and being YOU.”
It’s worth noting that Sports Illustrated only praised the mother of two in their joint announcement. As reported by The Blast, the sports magazine stated:
“Brittany Mahomes is your newest ‘Sports Illustrated’ 2024 Swimwear Rookie! Owner of the Kansas City Current NWSL team, former pro athlete, wife and mother, Brittany emerges as the epitome of a modern-day superpower.”
After recognizing Brittany as the founder of the world’s first dedicated stadium for women’s sports, Sports Illustrated revealed that her journey has exceeded “all expectations,” inspiring others through her determination and perseverance.
“We are honored to welcome her to the SI Swimsuit family, where she is sure to continue to empower women around the world,” the outfit explained.

Right before she defended herself against internet trolls, Brittany gained media attention for supporting her new best friend, Taylor Swift.
As previously reported, the pop singer-songwriter has faced accusations of negatively impacting the sport and being responsible for the poor performance of the Kansas City Chiefs during the regular season.
To support her friend through the attack, Brittany emphasized Taylor’s lack of influence on football integrity by highlighting Charles Barkley’s supportive statement defending the “Blank Space” hitmaker.

Taking to her Instagram story, she wrote, “Let it be. They are. Know” along with a screenshot of the former basketball star’s comment, which read, “If you yell at Taylor Swift say she’s a wreck [football]you’re just a loser.”
In case you missed it, Brittany and Taylor have developed a close friendship in recent months, fueled by the Grammy Award-winning relationship with Travis Kelce, who both share a close bond with Kansas City Chiefs teammate Patrick.
Additionally, The Blast reports that the couple has since been photographed together at numerous NFL games, especially during the playoffs, where they enthusiastically support their partner’s team from the stands.
