American actress and model Brooke Shields has revealed for the first time that she was raped as a young girl in her new documentary.

The actress recounted that she had dinner with the unnamed man to discuss work matters, after which he reportedly convinced her to return to his hotel room, where he would call her a taxi.
Shields explained that the man disappeared shortly after they got there and returned to the room naked, after which he sexually assaulted her.

The “Blue Lagoon” actor went on to say that he refrained from trying to fight back for fear that doing so might provoke more serious physical injuries. “I was afraid I was going to choke or something,” he said. “So I didn’t fight much. I do not. I was completely frozen.”
Shields later insisted that she believed saying “no” just once was enough to stop the act, adding that she was thinking of “staying alive and getting out.”
“God knows I know how to be separated from my body. I’ve practiced that… I went down in the elevator, and I got my own cab. I just cried the whole way to my friend’s apartment,” he explained.
He Couldn’t Process Or Talk About The Horrific Incident For Years

Shields was unable to recognize what had happened to him due to his condition, even after an assistant pointed out the obvious to him. She claims the assistant said, “That’s rape,” and she replied, “I don’t want to believe it.”
Shields, 57, told Hollywood Reporterper ABC News, “I don’t know if or when or if I will bring this up. It took me years of therapy to be able to talk about it.”
“I’ve definitely worked through it, and I’ve learned to process it,” he added. The actress explained that she couldn’t help but blame herself for being attacked.
“That’s what I need to do to my brain,” he admits. “He said to me, ‘I can trust you, and I can’t trust people.’ It’s so cliche, it’s almost depressing. I believe somehow I put out a message and that’s how the message is received. I drink wine at dinner. I went up to the room. I just trust so much.”

Per ABC NewsShields stated on the red carpet for the documentary’s premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, “I want people to be able to find their story in the story.”
“Beautiful Baby: Brooke Shields” examines Shields’ early years and rise to fame while explaining how society focuses on women and girls, especially in Hollywood. It was inspired by Shields’ 1978 breakthrough film “Pretty Baby.”
The actor also discussed his “complex” relationship with his mother in the documentary, saying that “she’s always been a very controversial figure.”
Shields previously documented the state of their relationship in 2014 USA Today interview, describing their bond as “entangled.”
“Love is so strong,” he said. “My mother came before anyone. I thought he was God, I thought he could change the weather. It’s us against the world.”
