The Willis family first revealed in March 2022 that Bruce was battling aphasia, a language disorder that affects communication abilities.
Earlier this year, in February, they revealed that the “Die Hard” star’s case worsened because he had been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia, an irreversible brain disorder that affects speech and motor skills with a life expectancy of six to eight years.
Since the diagnosis, the family has provided unwavering support for Bruce. A source close to the family disclosed to Us Weekly that “Bruce has good days and bad days, but in the last two months, there have been more bad days than good.”

Following Bruce’s diagnosis, the family was transparent about the challenges they faced. Over the summer, Emma shared the realities of caregiving on social media, writing, “I know it looks like I’m living my best life. I have to make a conscious effort every day…. I did it for myself, I did it for our two children, and Bruce, who wouldn’t want me to live any other way.”

The actor said, “He’s the same, which I think in terms of what I’ve learned is the best thing you can ask for. I see love when I’m with him, and it’s my dad, and he loves me, which is very special.”
