Bruce Willis’ wife, Emma Hemming Willis, recently shared a video giving fans an insight into her husband’s health and battle with Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD).
Taking to Instagram, Emma shared a video to help spread awareness of the condition while making the heartbreaking admission that it is incurable.
Bruce’s condition was first revealed in 2022 through a statement by a Willis family member, shared on social media, stating that the actor was retiring due to a diagnosis of Aphasia. It was later revealed that her condition had “evolved,” and that she was specifically suffering from FTD.

The wife of Hollywood star Bruce Willis, Emma, recently shared a video on Instagram to commemorate World FTD Awareness Week and spread important information about the condition.
In the video clip, he wrote, “FTD stands for dementia or frontotemporal degeneration. FTD affects the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain. Today there is no single cure or treatment for this disease.”
The 45-year-old later explained that “this is one of many important reasons to raise awareness,” adding, “Let’s #endFTD together.”
In her caption for the post, Emma stated that she hopes people will “learn and take away something new and useful” this week as she continues to spread the word about the disease.

Taking to the comments section of Emma’s post, fans made sure to tell the model how important her support was and thanked her for using her platform to highlight FTD.
“My father has FTD. Thank you for raising awareness and I’m sorry you’re living this story too,” wrote one fan.

One individual shared a heartbreaking story about how she cared for her mother, who has aphasia, and how grateful they were to find a community of people who have loved ones with various forms of the disease.
They wrote, “Thank you for raising awareness of this horrible disease. My mother has FTD with variant aphasia. I am my mother’s caregiver and only child and have no one to connect with — not realizing anyone else has this debilitating disease. After his death, I found the whole chain.”
