Bryce Stanfield, the late college football player, has no wife and is unmarried. The 21-year-old defensive lineman died Friday, two days after collapsing at the school’s stadium. Elizabeth Davis, Furman’s president, said in a letter to the campus community that Bryce passed out after exercising Wednesday morning and was rushed to the hospital. Defensive tackle is then placed on life support. Besides being an excellent soccer player and an excellent student, the boy also helps out with the local school. He would visit patients at Greenville Children’s Hospital and read to them.

Teri posted an obituary for Bryce on her Facebook page on Sunday, two days after his death. Furman Head Coach Clay Hendrix stated on behalf of the institution. The statement went on to say, “We are deeply saddened by Bryce’s sudden passing and ask that everyone, first and foremost, lift up his parents, Fred and Teri Stanfield and their families, in their prayers today and in the days to come. “
