The NASCAR driver walked down the aisle with his longtime girlfriend, Amanda Carter, in a sweet New Year’s Eve ceremony surrounded by their dearest family and friends. The wedding, held at the JW Marriott in Charlotte, North Carolina, took place nearly a year and a half after Wallace popped the question in July 2021.

When Wallace and Carter made things official on December 31 after five years of dating, their loved ones were overjoyed. The lovebird’s fans shared similar feelings when the news was delivered to them shortly after. In a joint announcement shared on Instagram, the couple wished “Happy New Year from the Wallace’s” to their hundreds of followers.

Starting with a black-and-white photo of the newlyweds smiling as they walked into their reception, the bride was radiant in a matching sleeveless white lace gown and flares. The floor-length dress came with a low V-neck that accentuated her bust and plunging back.

The bride’s gown, created by Madam Barcu Couture, makes another appearance in the next slide as Wallace holds Carter by the waist while holding a bouquet of red and white roses. A third picture shows the 29-year-old shedding his crimson velvet tuxedo to party with their guests.

The jacket reappears in the fourth slide along with his white shirt and charcoal pants, which like his tuxedo, were designed by Stitch by Mitch. For this image, Wallace slightly tipped his new bride so he could kiss her lips and grab her derrière.

Carter welcomed the public display of affection by holding her lover’s face in both hands. The dog mom’s dark hair was styled in a classic low bun that supported the small veil she wore for the occasion.

Their comments section was immediately flooded with well wishes from supporters, with one person writing, “Congratulations Bubba and Amanda. Amanda is definitely the better part for Bubba and I love how well you two make each other. What a great way to start the year and here’s to both of you.”

A second fan commented, “Congratulations to 2 amazing humans! Happy New Years & thanks for sharing your special day photos with us!” A third person said, “Congratulations from ??! You both look beautiful, and I couldn’t be happier for you both!”

Wallace and Carter had been intent on planning their big day, opting to treat their guests to a cocktail hour with an open bar. Attendees also enjoyed several hors d’oeuvres including tuna tartar, pulled pork spring rolls, duck meatballs, blue crab croquettes and whipped ricotta. However, for the main course, the couple wanted a less formal setup, with Carter telling PEOPLE:

“We don’t do sit-down dinners with more than 200 people. We want to make sure that we have time to see everyone. And a sit-down dinner can really take away the ability to talk to everyone.”

“Getting married and starting a new life together, I am very excited to have a good partner in my corner. We had a lot of fun together.”

The Blast observed in June 2020 that the discovery of the noose in Wallace’s garage stall has upset those in the NASCAR community. The incident, which took place at Talladega Superspeedway in Alabama on Sunday, June 21, saw the car’s racing and operating company vow to catch the culprit in a statement.

When he went on the air to address what had happened, ESPN reporter Marty Smith’s dismay was clear to viewers. “It pissed me off, and it pissed off everyone in this sport who cares, not just for Bubba but for everyone he’s standing up for,” the respected sports host said.

Smith added that he had spoken with a senior NASCAR official who confirmed that they “are going to find out who this person is; they are going to remove this person from the sport forever.”

Wallace issued a statement addressing the incident, which he called a “vile act of racism and hate.” Until the attack, the race car driver had publicly supported the “Black Lives Matter” movement.
