An alleged arsonist set himself on fire while trying to set fire to a Florida church earlier this month.
An unidentified man carrying a gasoline can approached Power Outreach Ministries in Oakland Park at about 1:40 a.m. on Aug. 14, surveillance footage released Thursday by the Broward County Sheriff’s Office showed.
He poured a large amount of flammable material in two places before leaning over to light one.

It is not known what his motive was for burning the church.
Emergency services immediately extinguished the fire, according to Fox News.

The City of Oakland Park Fire Marshal responded to the scene and determined the fire to be arson,” the Broward County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.
