They winged it!
Worlds collide this week when Burt’s Bees and Hidden Valley Ranch team up to launch a delicious lip balm set — it tastes like a basket of Buffalo wings.
What started as a social media prank on April Fools’ Day in 2022 became a reality Wednesday with the drop of a four-pack of limited-edition “Ranch Dippers” lip balms in crunchy celery, fresh carrots, Buffalo sauce and ranch flavors.
“It’s a basket of wings in balm form just for game day,” Hidden Valley posted on Instagram announcing the $11.99 set is “NOT FOR USE. Clearly.”
The saucy balm, which can be layered “for the ultimate flavor combo” sold out within hours — and resellers are already hawking sets online for $250.
Those who usurped their sets were all smiles.
Burt’s Bees and Hidden Valley Ranch’s unexpected collaboration drew mixed reviews with some gasping at the thought and others begging for a second release of the special edition set. hidden.valley, and , burtsbees/Instagram
“I ordered a set – I’m here for it,” wrote one lucky buyer on Instagram.
“I thought ‘zesty collaboration’ meant citrus – never saw this coming!!” said another.
“I ordered two – one for myself, one to mock my mother after she expressed dismay that this even existed!”
Those who missed out already applied for the second release.
“Please, I’m begging you to bring this back into effect!” asked a grandparent.
“It would be an amazing Christmas/birthday gift for my grandson, who uses lip balm, loves Hidden Valley Ranch, loves Burt’s and expects lip balm with amazing flavors from Grandma and Grandpa on every special occasion.”
Another wrote: “I like these small farm sticks, good taste, good consistency, but they are smaller than expected, each stick maybe 2-3 bites and it’s gone.”

The one-off collaboration, comes ahead of Super Bowl LVIII on February 11; this game is the biggest chicken wing consumption day of the year.
Mariah Eckhardt, general manager at Burt’s Bees said “fans responded so enthusiastically” to an April Fools’ social post featuring Hidden Valley Ranch lip balm that the honchos decided to make the gag real.
In March, Hidden Valley teamed up with Van Leeuwen ice cream for a surprise clothing-flavored treat, and in 2021 linked up with another controversial item — Crocs — for clogs that are now being resold online for over $300.
