Philipps’ late-night talk show “Busy Tonight” began airing in 2018 on E!. The show aired for just one season before it was canceled, and soon after, the actor earned a Critics’ Choice Reality TV Award nomination.
Further in the Instagram story, Philipps claimed that there were very few people among the crew or security guards at the time who would describe him as rude. He also stated that calling him rude was misogynistic. “But I doubt you’ll find a crew member or a pa or a security guard who will tell you I’m rude and condescending,” the actress said.
“I just don’t like it when people who are bad at their jobs pressure me to do my job. But. Let’s be real. The idea that I’m rude and condescending is so deep in adultery that it proves my vile point,” added the “White Chicks” star.

In a later interview with Diversity, Philipps revealed that the news of the cancellation left him devastated, and that he felt like the rug had been pulled out from under him. He explained that he got the information from his manager when he first landed in Dallas. While talking to Us Weekly in June 2019, Philipps revealed that he was moving to find a new home for his show following its cancellation on E!. He claimed the network was “not the right place” for its viewers and shows; however, he has yet to find a new home for it.
“We still take a lot of meetings and stuff, and we have people,” Philipps said. “It’s just a matter of making sure it’s the right place.”
The actor continued, “There’s a need for different voices to be in the media, you know, talking about different kinds of things. People want that. I’m not in the right place for people to access that and get that. So maybe we’ll think of a place that better for it to happen.”
