The “Cougar Town” alum took a moment to retrospectively look at the year 2022 just ended, saying that while it was filled with sad parts, he didn’t die.
Philipps captioned the security video of the horrific accident involving her, “2022, you broke my heart in so many ways, but at least you didn’t kill me.” He added, “This is for 2023!”
The actress can be seen in the video wearing a silver sequin dress, black jacket, and boots as she walks her dog, Gina, outside her New York apartment. Suddenly, he skidded on the front and fell to the ground before hitting the pavement.
The video evidence follows an episode of Philipps’ podcast from last October, “Nearly Dead Busy!,” in which he described the amazing experience.
Philipps Is Busy Showing That He’s Aware
Whether outside forces were responsible for the fall is unknown, but one thing is certain: Philipps was not drunk.
In the second part of her caption, she expressed her shock at the turn of events but was thankful she hadn’t hurt herself, calling it a miracle.
“Please enjoy this video of me miraculously falling onto my front end in October and not injuring myself at all (also, FYI, I’m conscious). Pod listeners, this is for you and our collective lightweight team,” wrote the “Girls5eva” actress.
After the fall, she appeared unhurt, fixing her hair before reaching for her phone to text her ex-husband, Marc Silverstein, who was inside with their children.
Philipps shares two daughters with Silverstein: Birdie, 14, and Cricket, 9.

When he first described the accident on his podcast, the “Freaks and Geeks” actor jokingly compared the harrowing experience to Jason Derulo’s popular fake meme depicting a man in a suit at the Met Gala falling down the stairs.
“That’s exactly what happened in my head. I was flying … when I landed on the sidewalk, I was like, looking up at the tree, and I was like, ‘How did I not die?'” she recounted, according to New York Post.
Philipps also said that he was relieved by the situation because dying that way was pointless.
“I won’t die falling down the stairs, I can’t. What a disappointment. It’s not for me,” he added.
