He attended Severn School for his education. From 1962 to 1966, he attended John Hopkins University. He later graduated from the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts in 1968. Caleb Deschanel’s career began with the 1979 picture “Being There,” which was a huge hit. He has been in other films since then, including “The Black Stallion,” “The Right Stuff,” “The Natural,” “Fly Away Home,” “Anna and the King,” “The Patriot,” “The Passion of the Christ,” “Don’t Look Away,” and “The Lion King,” to name a few. He has also worked with Wakefield Orloff and Paisley Production as a camera operator.
Deschanel filmed the Disney version of The Lion King with Jon Favreau, who directed and produced the film. Rob Legato, VFX production supervisor at MPC Film, led the team.
