A school in the San Francisco Bay Area has cut ties with “Woke Kindergarten” after a nationwide backlash over the program’s curriculum and founder’s statement.
Glassbrook Elementary spent $250,000 in federal funds meant to help raise test scores for some of the nation’s lowest-performing schools in the program, according to the San Francisco Chronicle, but after two years with Woke Kindergarten, student scores are reportedly worse.
The head of Woke Kindergarten, Akiea “Ki” Gross, has shared a social media post showing that she thinks America and Israel “have no right to exist” and wants to see a “free” world of those countries. “You are all criminals. We have tried to finish you all,” he wrote about them.
Hayward Unified School District (HUSD) spokesman Michael Bazeley told Fox News Digital the school terminated its contract with Woke Kindergarten on Monday and noted the consultant was never an employee.

Bazeley said HUSD was aware of “certain statements by Woke Kindergarten staff,” and, “While we respect free speech and the right for individuals to hold diverse political views, the vendor’s social media and other public statements are not in line with the district’s values and the values of most members of our community.”
“Personal political and social views are separate from Woke Kindergarten’s work with us,” Bazeley said.
Woke Kindergarten describes itself on its website as “supporting children, families, educators and organizations in their commitment to early abolition and liberation education that is pro-black and queer and trans.”

The organization also has today’s “Woke” words such as “truce” “abolish” and “Woke Wonderings” about challenging the “validity of the Supreme Court” and abolishing the police, money and army.
Although the school parted ways with this particular vendor, it still continued its “anti-racist” education.
“We will continue to support Glassbrook Elementary School as its teachers, staff and administrators continue to work to support students and families in the school community,” Bazeley said. “Anti-bias/anti-racism teaching, restorative practices, multilingual learning, literacy and mathematics will remain a focus for Glassbrook, building on the work the school has done over the past several years.”

The spokeswoman said that even when the district terminated the contract, it still insisted that the Woke Kindergarten curriculum was skewed.
“The controversies surrounding this program—including extensive media attention, the mischaracterization of Woke Kindergarten’s work, social media posts by vendors, and public response—all distract the district from doing the important work of supporting our students,” he said. “We have come to the conclusion that now is the right time to terminate the contract.”
The school has reportedly received “threatening and racist” messages following the news coverage.

On Thursday, a Glassbrook Elementary teacher, who publicly criticized her school district’s investment in “Woke Kindergarten,” reported that she had been placed on administrative leave for “alleged unprofessional conduct.”
Bazeley told Fox News Digital at the time, “We don’t comment on private personnel matters,” but denied the teacher was put on leave for “revenge purposes” or that she was being punished for speaking to the press.
