A California serial killer, who killed two family members and then five random strangers, told authorities he killed his pedophile cellmate because he was a lecher, according to local reports and court documents obtained by Fox News Digital.
Ramon Escobar, 52, is accused of killing cellmate Juan Villanueva, 53, in September, months after prison guards found the convicted child rapist dead in his cell.
When an officer arrived to check on Villanueva, Escobar allegedly, without questioning, confessed out of the blue.
“Hey, I’m sorry Jenkins,” Escobar told the officer, according to the probable cause affidavit. “I killed him.”
Villanueva was sentenced to life in prison last year for sexually assaulting a child under 14 — and it came in February, just days before he was killed, according to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
A guard at North Kern State Prison found Villanueva unresponsive at 8:49 a.m. on Feb. 24, according to authorities. Escobar was in a cell at the time.
Escobar was sentenced to double life plus 124 years in May 2022 and arrived in Kern in December.
Villanueva received a life sentence with the possibility of parole in October 2022 and arrived at the Kern prison on Feb. 2, according to authorities.

The two men are being held together at a medium-security facility there while California corrections officials prepare to move them to permanent placement.

Newly released court documents allege Escobar gave a confession and a motive for the murder. He choked Villanueva because of his poor hygiene, Bakersfield-based KGET-TV reported.
Villanueva was sentenced to life in prison last year for sexually assaulting a child under 14.
He has already served two life sentences without parole plus another 124 years for seven murders in California and Texas.
Escobar killed his aunt and uncle in Texas before fleeing to Southern California, where he robbed and killed five men over a 14-day period in 2018, according to FOX 11 Los Angeles. The remains of Dina and Rogelio Escobar have never been found.
A plea deal saved him from the Texas death penalty, and he is serving a life sentence in California.
Other victims have been identified as Juan Antonio Ramirez, 51 years old, who died of complications from the 2018 attack in 2021, Branden Ridout, 24 years old, Kelvin Williams, 59 years old, a 39-year-old youth athlete. coach Steven Cruze and 63-year-old Jorge Martinez, according to FOX LA.
