Cancer-stricken reptile enthusiast, YouTuber posts emotional goodbye video as he enters hospice

A reptile enthusiast known for his wildlife videos has posted a goodbye video on YouTube as he prepares to enter hospice care due to a battle with pancreatic cancer.

Brian Barczyk, 54, shared a 16-minute video montage of his pet titled “This is Goodbye” as he signed the contract for the last time.

“It’s been an amazing journey, which has changed my life like you wouldn’t believe,” said the YouTuber, looking breathless.

Barczyk thanked her 5.25 million followers for visiting her reptile zoo in Michigan and for supporting her work.

The YouTuber, who was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer almost a year ago, said his team would continue to post videos on his behalf after his death.

“Last year was difficult with my cancer, with the ups and downs of treatment,” he said. “We really think we can beat this.”

He revealed he was going into hospice last week, but told fans not to worry about his death because he “has Jesus” and will “spend eternity in Heaven.”

“I’m ready, guys. It was a difficult year,” she said through tears. “It was very painful, the pain was incredible, the disease was incredible, the treatment was incredible, everything was terrible.”

Just days before the video was shot, Barczyk was hospitalized and said he “knew it was him” after suffering multiple strokes and losing his vision, among other ailments.

“I’m telling you, I’m a tough guy, and I don’t know how people get through that,” he said. “I just wanted to come to you to say goodbye and tell you that I love you so much for doing what you did for me.”

He also thanked his wife for supporting him in his “final days” and said the LegaSea Aquarium was also his legacy. His latest venture, the LegaSea Aquarium, is still set to open by March, though Barcyzk can’t make it.

“I won’t be there to see the opening,” he said. “Unfortunately, you won’t see me in the future.”

In the montage, one of his previous videos shows him saying: “You don’t die until the last person says your name,” and Barczyk hopes his legacy continues through his aquarium.
