Candace Cameron Bure SLAMMED For Wanting To Portray Only ‘Traditional Marriages’

Candace Cameron Bure, one of the “Full House” alums, has created a stormy Christmas with her comments about “traditional marriage.” He recently moved on from Hallmark, despite being the creator of the Hallmark Channel, and is now the chief executive and chief creative officer of Great American Media, because he wants to spread the good news of God.

While no one is pointing fingers at him for being a Christian or loving God, his latest comments about same-sex marriage are hard to swallow.

Bure explains his steps by saying, “My heart wants to tell stories that have more meaning and purpose and depth behind them. I know that the people behind America’s Big Family are Christians who love God and want to promote religious programming and good family entertainment.”

He’s now reunited with his former Hallmark boss Bill Abbott, and Bure also said that his decision to leave Hallmark was because “it’s fundamentally a completely different network than when I started because of the leadership change.”

Case in point, this holiday, Hallmark will release its first holiday movie with an LGBTQ+ storyline, “The Holiday Sitter”. As far as Bure and America’s Big Family go, this may not be on the channel for a while to come.

The 46-year-old Bure stated, “I think America’s Big Family will keep traditional marriage at its core.” That said, he also softened the statement by saying, that no content he will create will “offend non-believers or someone who shares a different faith.”

Abbott on the other hand is still talking about, let’s just say, “non-traditional marriage”, as he stated: “Of course it’s 2022, so we’re aware of the trend. There’s no white board saying, ‘Yes, this’ or ‘No, we’re not going here.’”

Slammed By Hilarie Burton & Jojo Siwa

“One Tree Hill” alum Hilarie Burton slammed Bure on Twitter, calling her a “Bigot.”

The tweet was read, “Bigot. I don’t remember Jesus liking hypocrites like Candy. But sure. Get your money, baby. You ride that wave of prejudice all the way to the bank.”

Burton didn’t spare Abbott either, writing, “Now they just openly admit their bigotry. I railed against this a few years ago when Abbott was on Hallmark. Glad they removed it. Being LGBTQ is not a “trend”. The man and his network are disgusting. You too Candy. There is nothing unconventional about same-sex couples.”

Bure’s views are a far cry from her 2016 statement in which she said she was “100 percent on board” with working on projects including same-sex couples, stating, “I support all the things we go through as humans and would love all our characters to explore whatever current issues in our culture and our society.”

Bure is definitely not on Jojo Siwa’s list of favorites, as she was previously called out by Siwa for being the rudest celebrity the teenager had met, for which Bure apologized to her.

Siwa took Bure down in an Instagram post, saying, “I honestly can’t believe after everything that happened the past few months, that she would not only create a film with the intention of excluding LGBTQIA+, but then also talk about it in the press. This is rude and hurts the whole community.”

Twitter, Instagram React to Candace Cameron Bure’s ‘Honestness’

Social media was also outraged by Bure’s views and comments poured in on his Twitter page…

Wrote one, “No bigoted view of GAC is surprising, but putting it in bold print is. Also, “traditional”? “Trend?” I don’t have the space to unpack how hurtful this word is or why it shouldn’t be used. But please don’t.”

Another comment was a more direct hit, “So much for a Christian. You have NO IDEA what God is. No idea.”

Further lessons follow:

“Read your Bible! Jesus lived on this earth as a gender fluid human being. He supports love. This hatred is organized religion, not Jesus. He would call this hatred of anyone blasphemy.”

“You know what’s wild? People think Christian TV stations need to appeal to the masses. Featuring Christian couples is kind of the point of the dang station. Do not like? don’t look It’s honestly that simple. Twisting words is absolutely out of control.”

For now, Bure does not respond to any criticism nor defend his opinion. Watch this space to see what happens next…
