The model and actress has spoken out in her defense after her mistake during the British Formula One Grand Prix at the weekend. The 30-year-old had taunted former racing driver-turned-broadcaster Martin Brundle when he asked to chat while covering the live action, which was won by Max Verstappen.

“Well, I’m sure it will be very interesting.”
Later on Sunday, the fashion contributor took to Twitter to explain exactly what happened at the event, starting with a response to a tweet that read:
“At this point, Martin Brundle is just doing it to create a moment for the controversy of it all. You can clearly see the PR representative telling him “no” and shaking his head when he goes up to Cara Delevingne. He’s out and he chooses not to take it to make a statement .”
Delevingne quoted the tweet with her response read, “I was told to say no so I did. Thanks for seeing both sides xxx.” Where it gets interesting is when he follows up with another statement, tweeting“Anyway, I had a lot of fun today and was really happy to be there no matter what other people think x.”
The update caught the attention of his supporters and one of them answered, “You or anyone else who has a microphone thrown in your face owes you an explanation if you don’t want to talk. He should continue. Glad you enjoyed it ?.”
