Cardi B Remembers Takeoff Almost 2 Months After His Murder: ‘Such A Sweetheart’

Cardi B remembers husband Offset’s cousin Departed nearly two months after his death.

The rapper’s family and fans were devastated when news broke that he had been shot and killed outside a Houston bowling alley earlier last month. Takeoff, Offset, and his uncle Quavo previously formed Migos, a hip-hop group known for a variety of hits, including “Bad and Boujee,” “Walk It Talk It” and “Stir Fry.”

Cardi has never been shy about sharing her feelings about certain career and personal life events. The “WAP” hitmaker has been especially grieving since Takeoff’s death on November 1, and he has been updating his millions of followers about it.

She recently did so again when she posted a photo of the “Open It Up” rapper with her dreadlocks tied together with a hair tie. He looked suffocated as smoke covered part of his face.

The black-and-white shot, which was uploaded to Cardi’s Instagram Story, also shows Takeoff — real name Kirsnick Khari Ball — wearing at least three different necklaces.

The “Tomorrow 2” rapper wrote, “Such a sweetheart really unbelievable,” above the image, which was shot by celebrity artist Kevin Wong.

This isn’t the first time Cardi has publicly expressed her feelings about Takeoff’s death. In an Instagram post timed for his father-in-law’s funeral on November 11, the “Up” rapper wrote:

“Departing, your untimely passing has brought so much pain and sorrow to so many lives. The impact you had on the world was enormous, and we have struggled to come to terms with this tragedy.”

According to The Blast, she also admitted that even though she’s “heartbroken,” she’s still “grateful” for the memories and precious moments they shared while she was on earth.

“It’s been a nightmare, and the pain is like nothing,” the mother-of-two admitted before highlighting how her husband and Quavo are dealing with the loss following her death. In Cardi’s words:

“The void that your brothers and sisters feel is unbearable, and I pray that you give Offset, Quavo, and your friends and family the strength to continue their efforts to cope with this loss.”

He later expressed his belief that “angels send signs and sweet dreams to loved ones to reassure them that they’re watching over them and they’re fine and happy” and urged the late rapper to “send your mom some of those.”

The “I Like It” hitmaker ended his lengthy tribute by pledging to remember Takeoff’s “incredible talent” and his “dope a**” personality.

Cardi then concluded, “I pray that you are at peace and in heaven because you deserve it. I know God opens the door of heaven for you with a warm embrace. Calm Down, Take Off. I will also love you 4L & beyond.”

With over 3.5 million likes and counting, the “Hustlers” actor has the support of his fans. Some celebrities even took it a step further, commenting on the post.

Former Reality Star Reveals New Update About Offset Amid His Cousin’s Death

Last month, The Blast reported that Cardi revealed normal details about her family after Takeoff’s departure. The “Hustlers” star explained during the interview that while she and Offset are on their way to living their lives normally, it’s not easy.

“We’re living our lives as normal, but deep down, our hearts are so heavy,” the “Please Me” rapper said before admitting he was hesitant to publicly address his family’s pain.

According to him, talking about the weight was a bad idea for him because of the insensitivity of the internet and his disinterest in making his loved ones a sympathy case.

Cardi also noted that while she and her loved ones are “no charity cases,” trying to comfort Offset has been a difficult task, admitting:

“No lie, I’ve been feeling really hopeless trying to make my husband happy, Trying to make him smile.”

In fact, the 30-year-old man once saw his lover “crying randomly” over the loss of his cousin. It also doesn’t help that the two are trying to fulfill their part by showing up at work while accepting their new reality.
