Cardi B opened up about the sweet bond she shares with her loved ones and fellow rapper Takeoff. For the first time since the youngest member of Migos was tragically killed, his cousin’s wife broke her silence.
The beloved man was 28 years old and shot and killed on November 1 outside a bowling alley in Houston, Texas, leaving his fans, especially his family, in despair.
Cardi B Breaks Silence About Departure
On Friday, shortly after Takeoff’s emotional memorial service, which saw more than 20,000 fans in attendance, her family, and several industry A-listers, Cardi shared her first tribute to her beloved father-in-law.
“Departing, your untimely passing has brought so much pain and sorrow to so many lives. The impact you had on this world was enormous, and we have struggled to come to terms with this tragedy,” he began the tearful tribute.

Cardi stated that she is “heartbroken” but remains “grateful” for the memories and precious moments they shared while she was alive. “This has truly been a nightmare, and the pain is incomparable,” she admitted.
The “WAP” rapper then turned her attention to her husband Offset and her cousin Quavo, who was Takeoff’s uncle and was by his side during his death, and how they are dealing with the immeasurable loss of his death. In his words:
“The void that your brothers and sisters feel is unbearable and I pray that you give Offset, Quavo, and your friends and family the strength to continue their efforts to cope with this loss.”
He shared that he believes “angels send signs and sweet dreams to loved ones to reassure them that they’re watching over them and that they’re fine and happy,” before urging the late Migos member to “send your mom some of these 🙏🏽.”
The “Bodak Kuning” artist proved that he was more than a family member of the late rapper, but a fan of OG Migos who adored their talent as a trio. He wrote, “As a Migos fan, it hurts me to see pictures and videos of you together, and hear all your songs that changed the music industry and moved the culture and lit up the clubs 🔥.”
The mother of two admits the world and the rap industry wouldn’t be the same without Takeoff. However, he knows “your family and fans will all make sure the world will never forget the impact you made.” Concluding the touching tribute, Cardi made a heartfelt promise to Depart.

Cardi Slammed For ‘Lacklustre Tribute’
It’s not the first time the 30-year-old has recounted the tragic passing of his lover, but his first attempt was not appreciated by angry critics. As The Blast reported, days after Takeoff’s death was confirmed, Cardi took to Twitter to retweet Complex’s video about Takeoff and his bond with his family.
The clip was captioned “family forever,” a mantra Cardi clearly believed and retweeted. At the time, it wasn’t the “Open It Up” rapper’s loved ones, especially Quavo and Offset, who had announced his departure. However, some fans were not happy with the way he spoke.
Many slammed her for trying to save face, given that her husband and the rest of her group did not have a good relationship before Departure. One disappointed comment read, “And I know he only liked the video because he was scared and guilty after telling Quavo and Takeoff to “stand on it” last week. If you can come in here and enjoy the video, why not do a proper tribute ?”

Earlier in the day before Cardi’s tribute, she, Quavo, and Offset were seen for the first time since the 28-year-old’s death.
The grieving cousins who were eating cattle were united and seen hugging before getting into a car heading to the celebration of life, which was held at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta.
The “Up” rapper was there to support her man standing right behind the sisters in a simple black dress with heels. Take off was fatally hit by a stray bullet after an argument broke out in a bowling alley. May his soul rest in peace.
