The former professional athlete blamed his sportsmanlike ways as the reason why he was so harsh on Meg. He admits he made a lot of mistakes and really wants to mend fences now. The first step in the process is hiring someone who really knows the music business.

The new certified president of 1501 is Kai “Verse” Tyler, and since Carl hasn’t heard from Meg since 2019, the move now, continues without him.

“You name it, I don’t know the competitive nature of playing sports and stuff, you’re used to people yelling at you and stuff, you go back and forth. So, I’m kind of stuck in the game at the moment.”

Crawford went on to admit, “I probably shouldn’t have done it,” he admitted. “I’m in a different game now.” He “took a different approach” and this is where Verse is a key player.

Reputation 1501 Terrible

“Our reputation is pretty real, really bad,” Crawford admitted. The plan was to “get straight to the situation” and clean it up. Crawford shared that one of the things that tripped him up was that so many new things came to him so quickly.

Coming from the baseball world, he admits he doesn’t know how to deal with all this music stuff. “You might make a few mistakes here and there but you have to take ownership for that,” he said.

He shared that he never had a problem with Meg and that it was actually “this social media thing” that was the catalyst for the rift. “Take the social media part out of it and we don’t have a problem.”

Carl Crawford Won’t Talk About Meg Anymore

The music executive admitted that he really liked the drama. “I’m done with that,” he claimed. “You won’t hear me mention Meg Thee Stallion in the media unless it’s something like this or the big time and I have to say it but, you won’t see me texting or posting, or any of that stuff that’s going to cause social media going crazy.”

The sentence goes on to explain that it’s not just Meg that the company vows to leave alone. “We’re not disrespecting anybody, Meg, Roc Nation, at the end of the day, they’re a business conglomerate, they’re business people. We have no objections to any of them.”

He believes that more emotions take over than anything else that makes sense, Meg is interested in his music and Carl is interested in the money he invests.

As Crawford explained, “literally one day we’re cool, the next we’re not” but in the media there seems to be a back-and-forth with Crawford accusing the Houston rapper of leaking his own album, effectively screwing up his coin .

He also claims that he’s not from Houston, and let’s not forget how much he supported Tory Lanez during the trial between the Toronto-born rapper and Meg. In return, Meg is not a saint, she is accused of trolling the CEO on Twitter and other social media platforms.

She accused the label of being run by grown men who “bullied” her. It’s basically tit for tat at this point.
