Carl Jackson was asked to play banjo for Jim and Jesse at a local show when he was 14 years old. Later, he was asked to join the Virginia Boys, one of the most famous bluegrass groups of the time. Jackson spent five years working with Jim and Jesse before deciding to venture out and test the musical waters. During this voyage, he briefly joined The Sullivan Family as a guitarist.
He ended up spending 12 years with Glen Campbell’s band. Campbell is mostly responsible for Jackson’s five decades in the music industry. Jackson then chose to abandon Campbell and strike out on his own. Jackson continued to work as a composer and performer in Nashville.
