The “Apollo Creed” star’s lawyer, Barry B. Felsen, recently filed a petition for probate of the Right to Administer Under the Independent Estate Administration Act.
This means he can carry out the administration of the Weathers estate without court supervision. Felsen stated that according to the deceased’s will, he was the “proposed executor and successor co-trustee.”
The late actor’s sons Matthew B. Weathers and Jason Weathers, along with his former spouses Mary Ann Weathers and Rhona Unsell Weathers, are also named as beneficiaries of the estate, which is valued at $815,280.00, and a living trust in his name.
In his will, the executor asked the executors of his estate to pay his funeral expenses and any debts incurred before his death. He also gifted all his personal belongings and some other assets to his children.
The list includes “jewelry, objets d’art, clothing, furniture and home furnishings, personal cars, club memberships, boats and recreational vehicles, and other tangible items of a personal nature.”

Also, the death certificate states that the late actor had spent 51 years in the entertainment industry as an actor, leaving behind two sons and no legal wife at the time of his death.

Last month, Weathers made a surprise appearance in a Super Bowl commercial that aired on February 11. The show marked his last role before his death and his family reportedly gave their blessing.
Online sports betting company FanDuel was scheduled to run a Weathers ad during the Super Bowl, but it approached the project with caution, given the actor’s death just days before.
Andrew Sneyd, FanDuel’s executive vice president of marketing, said, “The family has been so supportive that they still want to see Carl in action.” However, some editing is required to make it happen.
“We’ve seen edits while crying. We really enjoyed the short time we had to work with him,” Sneyd admitted before praising Weathers. In his words:
“He’s a great guy and he’s really inspirational and has a positive outlook on the world. We want to make sure we try to meet this moment with the respect it deserves.”
