Speaking about the new hit single, the 39-year-old country music singer said:
“’Hate My Heart’ was definitely part of my desire to have fun on this album. I want songs that are exciting to perform live and will fill an arena, and that’s what we’re going to do with the Denim & Rhinestones Tour. This one is sure to get everyone up and running. It was great writing ‘Hate My Heart’ with Hillary Lindsey and David Garcia, who I love working with, and also being able to work with Hardy, who brings a cool vibe and energy to the track.”
Underwood is currently on tour with Jimmie Allen for his Denim & Rhinestones tour. When talking about why she chose Allen to tour with her, she told Lon Helton, “I think he makes sense. He embraces denim & rhinestones almost as much as I do.”
“At least we know we’ll have a lot of bling and a lot of rhinestones for the wardrobe,” she continued. “We might as well get together on stage. It’s always a shame, if I had someone like him, it would be a shame not to sing with him when we’re on stage.”
Underwood had previously announced that for every ticket sold, the 38-year-old would donate $1 to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, which has supported America’s heroes by providing mortgage-free homes since September 11.
