Johnny Wujek is living a fruitful manifestation and he is excited to share it with the world!
The award-winning celebrity fashion designer, known for her daring looks and high-profile clientele, has teamed up with JCPenney for what she calls a “magical” “manifestation.” JCProm with Johnny Wujek releases February 29th in select stores and on JCPenney.com.
JCProm With Johnny Wujek Is A Manifestation Come True!

Wujek told The Blast that she always wanted to design a prom line and now, she’s living that dream thanks to a collaboration with JCPenney.
“This is the manifestation of over a decade of something I’ve wanted to do, launch a line of prom dresses. I grew up in the Midwest so prom to me was like the Grammys, so when I moved to LA and actually being at the Grammys and going to these things and these big events I love, it was really important. Who would have thought that this kid from the Midwest was out here doing this,” he told The Blast exclusively.
“So it’s a great way for me to bring glitz and glam back to my community and across the company by partnering with JCPenney to launch this line of prom dresses. So it’s amazing how the universe works and it’s happening now and it’s the right time. It’s going to be very exciting, very Johnny Wujek, to take the influence of my stage performance and the red carpet and this event and bring it to high school teenagers for their special prom night.”

The collection will include 22 “highly versatile” gender-appropriate pieces. Wujek says, “it’s for every body and everyone.” When asked if she had a favorite piece in the collection, she said it was hard to narrow it down.
“Everyone can wear all the pieces and mix and match those suits and dresses and I like the revealing ones so there’s a reversible skirt, so there’s two in one, there’s a coat tail that zips up into a short crop tuxedo jacket,” she said. “So it’s hard to pick one because there are so many, but I think the standout is this little bow mini dress. It’s super editorial, it’s very colorful. Anyone who comes to prom wearing this is going to have a good time.”

The partnership is sort of a full-circle moment for Wujek, who not only shopped at JCPenney as a teenager, but also had a relative job with the company. And a friend brought the two together for this interesting chapter in Wujek’s life.
“The universe, it brought us together through a woman I was friends with who was a producer. I told him my idea. He looks like he could be in the JCPenney aisle. JCPenney was my first taste of department store fashion and glamour,” he told The Blast.
“I had an Aunt Mary who worked there, and she would every birthday, communion, graduation, Christmas, we would get a JCPenney gift and so when it came time for us to connect, I thought oh my God, that JCPenney is going to be that. cool because my history in Michigan became my fashion outlet and now we can work on this together. And also, I always wanted it to be something that was accessible, affordable, attainable, so JCPenney is all over the country and it just made sense. When we finally connected and signed the deal on my birthday, I was like, okay this is going to be magical. I can’t wait.”
As for prom style, Wujek advises teenagers to “join together” because it’s a big and exciting event for high school students.
“It’s like your Oscar, your Grammy. It’s a celebration of your peers for four years of high school, until you graduate. It celebrates this great event. It’s a fun thing to dress up,” he said. “I just thought it was an opportunity. When did you get it? This is your night. I say go all. Think of it as the Oscars red carpet event. Nothing is ever enough. just a moment Embrace it and do it.”
Johnny Wujek Hasn’t Looked Back Since Diving Into The Fashion World!

When Wujek moved to LA, he tiptoed straight into the world of styling. After meeting Katy Perry one night at a party and the two falling out, he began designing clothes and major red carpet events and gaining recognition. That’s when she jumped straight into the world of fashion and hasn’t looked back since.
And since then, Wujek has worked with many great clients and can share many interesting stories, but one particular experience stands out for him.
“This is so funny, being from Michigan, but I grew up watching ‘Wheel of Fortune’ and Vanna is an icon to me. I’m always like, she’s so glamorous. When I did Katy for the Super Bowl, I was interviewed and they asked me who I wanted to dress and it was Vanna White,” she said. “Like two days later, Vanna White’s team called my agent and said Vanna would love for Johnny to wear her for a week.”
Wujek remembered that he had to go to the show and get his name on the board. The experience quickly became his favorite unforgettable moment.
As for future endeavors, Wujek would like to direct films. He said he almost did that but then the writers and actors strike happened. And then the JCPenney collaboration happened, so maybe one day he’ll add director to his resume.

Another exciting part of the JCPenney partnership is the opportunity to give back to the community.
“I’m so excited it happened,” he said. “When I first started talking to JCPenney, I said I really want to give back.”
And give back, they will! The retailer will donate $250,000 to five schools to throw an unforgettable prom.
“We use all the associates at JCPenney to nominate different schools that give back to the community,” he explained. “It was amazing the response we got.”
Schools will be notified if they are one of the five selected on March 8.
