Celine Dion fans breathed a sigh of relief when it was seen recently when the singer’s handshake stole the spotlight.

The award-winning singer has been making rare public appearances since she announced her battle with the painful medical condition, and the internet is buzzing. Dion canceled all of her upcoming tour dates and scheduled performances last year to focus on her journey to recovery.

The “My Heart Will Go On” singer attended the hockey game between the Montreal Canadiens and the Vegas Golden Knights at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Monday. Dion looked dapper as he entered the dressing room to congratulate his home team on their impressive performance.

The pop star kept it sporty in a beige two-piece and cream puffy jacket paired with stunning white shoes and gold jewellery. She kept her blonde locks in a sleek ponytail, as seen in a clip on the team’s official Instagram page where she exchanged words with the team’s head coach, Martin St.

This exciting sighting comes days after Dion’s sister, Claudette, dismissed rumors that the singer uses a wheelchair to get around. The rumor started in September following a viral YouTube video titled “Celine Dion’s Family Reveals How She Was Dying” that spread to TikTok and Twitter.

Claudette added that her sister is strong and not depressed as they continue to treat her Stiff Person Syndrome saying, “she really has a zest for life. We’ll get through this. Why do they say she’s in a wheelchair? Why do they say she has cancer? Why are you making it up?”

As we reported, she previously revealed the “All By Myself” singer’s struggles with the disease included muscle spasms and multiple pains, but she noted that Dion is aware of the unwavering support of her fans and family.

Although the news about her in a wheelchair may be false, Dion canceled the proposed “Courage” world tour to take care of her health. The star shared the news on social media with her huge fan base in an emotional post announcing that she was canceling 42 European dates. In his words:

“I’m sorry for disappointing you all again. I’m working hard to rebuild my strength, but touring can be tough even when you’re 100%. It’s not fair for you to keep postponing the show, and as much as it breaks my heart, we have to cancel everything now until I’m ready to get back on stage.”

Dion’s inevitable decision left her many fans and music lovers who had planned to attend the show bittersweet. He, however, apologized to all involved, adding that there would be an immediate refund through the original point of sale.

The “I’m Alive” singer was diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome in December 2022. The disease is a neurological disorder that affects the central nervous system. Symptoms of SPS include muscle spasms and painful spasms that occur in the limbs, trunk and other parts of the body. They are often triggered by emotional stress or sudden movement.
