Celine Dion’s sister has hopeful news about the superstar’s condition, months after she was diagnosed with the incurable Stiff Person Syndrome.
News of the diagnosis spread widely in December 2022, with Celine promising to work on regaining her strength but was forced to cancel all her concerts and commitments.
Thankfully, her sister Claudette, who recently offered insight into her struggle with the syndrome, assured fans that the pop star is indeed pulling out all the stops to get back on her feet.

“He did everything to recover,” he shared. “She’s a strong woman.” The 74-year-old also described some of the symptoms of the rare disease, hinting at the pain his sister was going through. “It’s a disease we know very little about. There was a spasm – it was impossible to control,” he explained.
“You know [when] people often jump at night because of leg or calf cramps? It’s a bit like that, but in all the muscles,” added Claudette. “There is little we can do to support him, to ease his pain.”
Fans learned of Celine’s condition when she first broke the news in an emotional social media video explaining that she suffered from spasms that affected “every aspect of my daily life” and prevented her from using her vocal cords properly.
Since he was forced to cancel his plans and postpone the Courage world tour until he was “absolutely ready” to return to the stage again. Fortunately, “Think Twice” has the best team of medical experts, including a sports medicine therapist, to help rebuild his strength.
She also has the love and support of her extended family, including her sister Linda and her husband, who are Las Vegas residents. “It’s a relief for all of us [to have them near Celine],” Claudette admitted, adding that “we are crossing our fingers that researchers will find a cure for this terrible disease.”

His job keeps him close to home in Quebec. Still, her bond with Celine remains special, given their “shared interest in music, motherhood and more.” Claudette went on to touch on how much her sister’s fans loved her in the midst of her struggles, not just because of her voice. He said:
“They love Celine, not only for the voice she has but also for the person she is. For woman she has become, for mother she has become. We love him for who he is.”

Earlier in August, Claudette told Le Journal de Montréal that her 55-year-old sister’s condition had gotten so bad that she needed her other sister, Linda, to move in to care for her. He also emphasized Celine’s determination to recover.
“When I called him, and he was busy, I spoke to my sister Linda, who lives with him and told me that he is working hard,” shared the old man. “He listened to leading researchers in the field of this rare disease as much as possible.
The “I’m Alive” star’s siblings also thought she had to cancel her Courage World Tour, insisting that Celine mostly needed a break because she was always trying to be the best she could be.
He mentioned that they are “trusting” the Grammy winner to find a workable solution that will allow him to return to the stage in due time.
