Reality television star Charli D’Amelio has come under fire after sharing a TikTok video, which shows her dressed as a Walmart worker, seemingly mocking hourly workers.
The 19-year-old faced backlash from Walmart employees, who called her “rude” and “tone-deaf” after she “impersonated” a Walmart employee in a sponsored video.

In the sponsored video, Charli and her sister Dixie, 22, pretend to work at the grocery chain to promote its new popcorn brand, Be Happy Snacks.
Now, the reality television star has been branded “out of touch” as thousands of working class members, struggling to pay their bills, comment on her TikTok videos.
“I wish I had enough money to cosplay as a retail worker, so much fun being in the working class,” wrote one user while another chimed in “we’re all watching, living paycheck to paycheck like ???.”

“I can barely make a living as a retail worker, but I’m glad you’re having fun,” said one of D’Amelio’s fans.
Another said something similar, writing, “Rent is due in 2 days and I can’t pay it even though I work 2 jobs 7 days a week, but so glad you had fun ☺️☺️☺️.”
And one user noted, “Watched this after working two jobs…both 8 hour shifts…if I could pretend.”

And the comments kept pouring in as many followers slammed the reality television star for their latest Walmart-sponsored video.

Although one user accused D’Amelio of “cosplaying” as a Walmart employee. “I must love cosplay because I do it 5 days a week for 8 hours ??,” they wrote.

The reality television star and social media influencer recently opened up about her mental health struggles when she rose to fame in her teenage years.
“16 is very difficult for me and I will listen to these adults every day; ‘Charli did this, Charli did that,’” the influencer said in a recent podcast. “It’s actually right when I hit 100 million, I think I was at my lowest mental state and I looked really happy online.”
“It got so dark where I was like I didn’t want to be here anymore,” he admitted.
D’Amelio went on to say that he hoped “adults” never put “16-year-olds” in the state. “I think back to those times and grown adults putting me 16-year-old in that mindset and I’m like, you have kids now,” she said. “I wish they could see what they did to me and how horrible they treated me.”
