Venkatesh Bhat was born on Monday, 15 September 1980 (age 41 years; as of 2021) in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. His zodiac sign is Virgo. He did his schooling at Chennai’s Sir M Venkatasubba Rao Matriculation Higher Secondary School. He was not good at studies in his school days and failed 4 times in different classes. After completing his schooling, Venkatesh studied catering at Asan Memorial and obtained a graduate degree from Cornell University. He majored in General Management at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

Career

Corporate Career

In 1994, Venkatesh joined Hotel Chola Sheraton (now, known as My Fortune), Chennai, as a chef. He worked there for two years and then joined Taj Coromandel, Chennai, as a management trainee in hotel operations and kitchen management.

Later, he was promoted to the position of sous chef in 1998. In 2001, he worked as an executive sous chef at The Leela Palace in Bangaluru, and in 2004, he was promoted to corporate chef. Bhat worked there till 2006 and subsequently resigned from his job. In 2007, Bhat launched Billionsmiles Hospitality Pvt. Ltd., which encompasses restaurants like South Indies, Up South, and Bon South in Bangalore. In 2012, he joined The Accord Metropolitan Hotel and is currently (as of 2021) serving as the CEO of the hotel. He is also the CEO of The Accord Puducherry and Highland Hotel in Ooty. Apart from being a CEO, Venkatesh also works as a chef at Royal Indianaa Restaurant, Chennai.

In 2014, he appeared in the Tamil cooking show “Samayal Samayal with Venkatesh Bhat.” In the show, he cooked 100 of his top recipes that everyday cooks and viewers could try.
