Cher’s Son Elijah’s Divorce Dismissal Granted Amid Conservatorship Battle

Cher’s son Elijah Blue Allman’s request to have his divorce from his wife, Marieangela King, dismissed has been granted.

This comes after a judge initially denied Elijah’s request because a temporary support system was in place.

Elijah filed for divorce from King in 2021, but the couple has since reconciled and appears united against Cher amid her attempts to place her son under a conservatorship.

After his second victory in court against his mother, Cher, Elijah Blue Allman has been granted his wish to have his divorce from his wife, Marieangela King, dismissed.

A judge had previously rejected his request on a legal technicality, noting that the couple had a temporary support order.

After his initial divorce filing in 2021, Elijah was ordered to pay King monthly support. King herself claimed in a court declaration that her estranged husband owed her $40,000 in unpaid spousal support.

However, the couple seem to have resolved their issues since Elijah’s mother, Cher, made a legal attempt to place him under conservatorship. King and Elijah reportedly reconciled in Mexico after he “risked his own life” to rescue her from the rehabilitation center her mother was in and bring her back to the United States.

With their divorce out of the way, King now has the right, as Elijah’s partner, to decide his treatment going forward.

In the legal document filed by Cher, asking her son to be a conservator, she emphasized that Elijah and King had grown apart and “their chaotic relationship has been marked by a cycle of drug addiction and mental health crises.”

The document, obtained by Explosionread: “[Cher] was informed and believed that Angela was not supportive of Elijah’s recovery and that Angela was actively working to keep Elijah from getting clean and sober or receiving the mental health treatment he desperately needed. Latest, [Cher] was informed and believed that Angela took steps to check Elijah out of the treatment center where he was receiving much needed medical care.”

“Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again” actress claims that due to the couple’s ongoing divorce proceedings, “Angela is not entitled to be appointed conservator of Elijah’s estate unless the court finds, with clear and convincing evidence, that [an] appointment is for Elijah’s sake.”

Cher claims that King’s appointment as conservator would be “unsafe” and detrimental to Elia and her estate.

“It is not safe for Elia and his inheritance because [Cher] informed and believed that the appointment of Angela as conservator of Elijah’s estate would result in the immediate loss or disappearance of Elijah’s assets for self-destructive purposes,” court documents state.

After a preliminary court hearing on January 5, Judge Jessica A. Uzcategui denied Cher’s request for Elijah’s immediate conservatorship, stating that the singer and her team failed to properly serve her son’s papers, which would have given her and her attorney enough time to prepare their case.

The trial was then moved to January 29, and Judge Uzcategui, once again, denied the singer’s request for Elijah’s temporary conservatorship, stating: “don’t question the motivation behind Cher wanting [help] his son… however, I do not see sufficient evidence.”

Following the ruling, Elijah’s attorney released a statement that he was “thrilled that the court saw that he did not need the services of a temporary conservator.” They also revealed that the 47-year-old is open to mediation with his mother.

Cher’s attorney, on the other hand, claimed that Elijah “is surrounded by people who deny mental illness… we’re trying to avoid a situation where his life is at risk.”

Elia himself has stated that he has been sober for over 90 days and does not need his mother’s “unsolicited support”.
