Cheryl Burke had to relive her worst nightmare, divorce.

The dance professional performed her final stunt on the “Dancing with the Stars” stage on Monday, November 21.

She announced on Sunday, November 20, that she is retiring from the reality dance competition show.

“I’m sitting here full of so many conflicting emotions about the words I’m about to write…” her sentimental post began. “Tomorrow night will officially be my last dance as a pro dancer on @dancingwiththestars. This was one of the hardest decisions of my life & I am also convinced that it was the right decision. This show has been my 2nd family since I was 21 years old. The cast, crew & fans have seen me through my highs & some of my lows, & I honestly don’t know who I am today without them.”

In addition to leaving her ‘DWTS’ family, Burke finalized her divorce from Matthew Lawrence earlier this year.

Burke says her departure from ‘DWTS’ is comparable to her divorce.

“[It’s been] very hard. It’s like another kind of divorce, but in a good way,” he admitted Page Six. “I am touched. I have tried to hold back the tears, I would say, because I really want to do the best I can. Now with all that behind me, it’s bittersweet … but I just have to trust my intuition. I know though that I like to grow as a person. I think for me, I’ve done 26 seasons as a professional dancer and I know I’m more than capable of doing other things as well.”

In his retirement announcement, Burke stated that he needed to focus on the “uncertainty of the future.”

“I also know that it is time for me to start the next phase of my career, although dance will always be a part of me. I’m excited about the idea of ​​growing, about being challenged in new ways, having the ability to expand my commitment to mental health advocacy, focusing on my new love for podcasting, & I’m ready to face the uncertainty (even if it’s scary as sh**) about what will happen in the future – I have a few things up my sleeve, so don’t worry ?,” Burke’s post continued. “I hope you will watch my farewell dance during the Finale tomorrow because it is dedicated to all of YOU who have supported me, loved me even though you didn’t know me, & who have been a big part of me. my life, my growth, & my story. I’m honestly not sure how I’m going to get through it without tears but even with all the heartache & emotions, I’m grateful for the opportunity to perform this dance & to do it with two of my favorite male pro men to dance with, @pashapashkov & @louisvanamstel.”

Burke paid tribute to him and thanked the entire “Dancing with the Stars” production staff.

The dance show’s 31st season ended with Charli D’Amelio and Mark Ballas taking home the coveted mirrorball trophy.

However, not everyone is convinced he should have won with some saying the show was rigged.
