Not one to shy away from naysayers, the model took to her Instagram page to address some of the “shocking messages” she’s received about her new podcast. He began by saying:

“First of all, I apologize to anyone who was offended by any of my comments on my podcast. However, I just want everyone to know that my intentions were never cruel.”

The 39-year-old made sure everyone understood he wasn’t backing down with the following words. The dancer emphatically stated that although he was sorry people were hurt, however, he stated:

“It’s my truth, and it’s my opinion and I’m very sorry if it hurts or offends anyone. My opinion, just so everyone knows, is formed based on my own personal experience and journey on the show.”

Showing her honesty, Burke recounted that since joining the show at the age of 21, co-workers knew she was “honest” and never got along. The “I Can Do That” contestant noted that working with iHeartMedia means she has to judge the show honestly from beginning to end, and she knows that not everyone will agree.

However, the “Dance Moms” star stated, “Whether people agree with me or not, that’s none of my business.” Even so, she wished “all the contestants, the pro dancers, the cast, the crew, the hair, the makeup, anyone who has been a part of DWTS, this season, good luck, and I send everyone love and light.”

The post, captioned, “Some thoughts on @sexliesandspraytans …” drew support from fans and friends, including fellow dancer Sharna Burgess, who stated:

“I’m sorry you had to do this mom. Your podcast is great and your perspective comes from almost 2 decades of being in it. You have a lot of experience in the show as a real judge. Love you and keep being you. People will adapt and appreciate in time.”

Others expressed their disbelief at the critics, like this user who wrote, “Wow!!! I’m surprised you had to come and put this out there. You do you and speak your truth!”

A third follower pointed out that it’s Burke’s podcast, so he can say what he wants and “If someone doesn’t like it, they don’t have to listen. Period.” Someone who also agreed with that sentiment stated, “People don’t need to listen.”

Last month, the television host revealed that his latest venture, a podcast, will feature BTS’ take on “DWTS.” On the platform, he will also delve into heated debates, romantic relationships and other interesting moments from his extensive tenure on the ballroom stage.

“This is my third podcast. I was lucky enough to do it with iHeartMedia and it was an interesting conversation when we first talked about doing a podcast like this, because there’s a fine line, I obviously don’t want to upset anybody on the show, but this has nothing to do with any kind of negative. If anything, it’s a tribute to that show for the half of my life that I’ve been a part of.”

He also pointed out the importance of commemorating the show’s continued success and recognizing the important role fans play in the series.
