Cheryl Burke pays tribute to Len Goodman on his 79th birthday.
The television personality, whose life has remained in limbo since an agent confirmed that Goodman had died, celebrated her birthday with a sweet social media post. The “Holiday of My Lifetime” alum passed away on Saturday, April 22, at a hospice in Tunbridge Wells after a long battle with bone cancer.

Although he still hasn’t come to terms with Goodman’s death, Burke made sure he paid tribute to him when his birthday arrived on April 25. Taking to her Instagram Story, the model uploaded a close-up of the late ballroom dancer wearing a smile, a black suit, pink underwear and a blue and pink tie. Across from the image, he wrote:
“Happy Birthday Mr. Len Goodman! I know you are dancing in heaven, with the stars & angels right now. Sending love & light to you my love.”

The “Dancing with the Stars” alum continued the tribute by sharing a video, stating that her heart is “still very heavy” over the sad development. “My heart goes out to his family, and this is just a reminder to me and anyone who wants to hear it; I think life is too short,” he continued. After stating that “life is precious,” the “Dance Moms” star added:
“Sometimes the pressures of daily life or these thoughts in our heads can be magnified a lot, and it’s important to just breathe once in a while.”
He then reminds viewers that “little things don’t matter sometimes” before ending the clip with a declaration of love for his fans. Burke was in a better mood in the footage than when she mourned the loss of the “Strictly Come Dancing” head judge on Instagram a few days ago. Posting some throwback photos featuring the dance school founder, the 38-year-old wrote in the caption:
“There are not enough words to describe how much Mr. Len Goodman had such an impact on my life. From the time I was a teenager when he always judged me in all the European dance competitions, I participated until the day we hugged each other when we both retired on @dancingwiththestars last season.”
After confirming that she considers him her favorite “DWTS” judge, Burke admitted that she’s part of the reason the dance competition series “became a hit show” thanks to her “tough love, her “no BS” approach, her “belief in Ballroom technique,” and care deep “about sport and how it is represented.”
“Thank you for changing my life and bringing joy to the millions of people who have watched us over the years,” the “I Can Do That” star concluded.

The world was kind to Burke when she announced her last dance in the “DWTS” ballroom last November, The Blast said. The outrage came when a “Hell’s Kitchen” VIP guest shared a single photo showing her in an unforgettable red ball gown on Instagram. The PrimeTime Emmy Award winner, who appeared to be caught in a mid-dance pose, wrote below the snap:
“I’m sitting here full of conflicting emotions about the words I’m about to write… Tomorrow night will officially be my last dance as a pro dancer on @dancingwiththestars. This is one of the most difficult decisions of my life & I am also convinced that it is the right decision.”
He later admitted that the series has given him a tribe he sees as his second family since he joined at the age of 21. Expressing his confidence that his exit from the ABC show will allow him to begin the “next phase” of his career, Burke continued:
“I’m excited about the idea of growing, about being challenged in new ways, having the ability to expand my commitment to mental health advocacy, focusing on my new love for podcasting, & I’m ready to face uncertainty (even if it’s scary as sh**) about the future – I have a few things in hand, so don’t worry.”
