Cheryl Burke Moves Into Her Parents’ House Amid California Storm
Tensions have been high since the storm hit the Bay Area, leaving more than 120,000 people without power in the Bay Area and closing major roads and highways. One person whose life has been affected by the latest round of high winds and rain in California is Burke, who shared real-time updates with her fans on social media.
In her first post, the former “Dancing with the Stars” contestant fixed her camera on a wide view of the wind blowing the grass in her yard as she revealed that she’s “officially out of power” in her “windy” Santa Cruz home. She panned her camera at her dog, Isa, who she claims doesn’t like the weather, before adding:
“There were lawn chairs thrown. Thank God I overturned our outdoor furniture. Hopefully, that will not happen.”
The 2005 San Francisco Latin champion then expressed his gratitude for the puzzle, showing the audience the box on his desk. “It was very windy. I mean, it’s probably nothing compared to some places that get hit by tornadoes, but it’s pretty windy,” added Burke as the clip closes with Isa looking for something to “bark on.”
In a subsequent video, the doting mom can be seen sitting in her car in a fluffy black dress. She skipped getting her hair perfectly styled, opting instead for nude-colored streaks and a makeup-free face.
The 38-year-old revealed he was “charging the car” even though the “electricity was still out.” Luckily, the parents of “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody” guest star “were only an hour and a half away,” putting their superstar daughter out of her misery. After explaining that he had to pack his bag in the dark and get a “shivering dog that froze his back,” Burke added:
“I thought the power would come back sooner, and we’d go see my parents and stay with them for the next day or two.”
He went on to share that he took all his gear so he “could record content” at his parents’ place. The model closed the video by asking her fans to wish her luck and “see you on the other side.”
ABC7 News reported that several roads, including both stretches of Highway 101 from Belmont to San Mateo, Muir Woods, and the 3rd Street Bridge, were closed to facilitate repairs to downed power lines.
