Actor Chet Hanks seems to be in some self-care groove!
The third child of Hollywood legend Tom Hanks and his wife, Rita Wilson, has been in and out of several controversies online. From speaking in a Jamaican accent to certain cultural appropriations, this particular Hanks keeps rocking.
However, it appears as if the “Greyhound” actor is taking time away from the headlines for self-reflection.
Chet Hanks Shares Some Motivation With His Fans
The aspiring rapper shared his words of wisdom to his 534k fans on Instagram without resorting to his mock Jamaican accent. The clip reveals the actor in his car, dressed in a casual shirt; hat turned backwards, and a pair of sunglasses. From his relaxed state, he seemed to have done a lot of reflection and shedding his consciousness.
He says, “Sometimes you just have to go for a walk or a hike, whatever by yourself. And talk to yourself out loud the whole time. Just start with ‘Hey, man. It’s been a minute. Why haven’t we kicked it in a while?'”
He added, “Just go wherever the conversation takes you but get it all out. Get it all off your chest. Talk to yourself.”
Chet, who has tried his advice, assures his fans of excellent results. He said, “And I guarantee you that by the end of that conversation, you won’t feel like you’re walking alone. You’ll feel like you’re walking with kings. It’ll feel like you’ve kicked it with your best friend.”
The “Bratz” star urged his fans to try his eye tricks, highlighting that one’s mind plays an important role. The young actor said, “Everything is how we talk to ourselves. Self talk and our mind is everything.”
The “Shameless” actress has been doing a lot of self-reflection lately and is tired of people attributing her success to her repo babe status. Last month, he lamented about his achievements which he credited to his father.
In his update, he cried, “I bought a Lambo; they said my father bought it for me. I almost got into a fight with a homeless person at IHOP, and they said I staged it. It’s like I could make a cure for cancer tomorrow, and they’d say I’m only doing it because of my dad.”

Chet emphatically states that he has lived under his father’s shadow. However, he is learning how to manage it. She says, “The way I’ve learned to deal with this frustration is to just, you know, turn on the sage, meditate, journal, take a walk, and take a deep breath.”
‘Shameless’ Actor Credits Himself For Popularizing Jamaican Patois
Thankfully, the “White Boy Summer” rapper is taking time to practice self-care and meditation after sparking controversy. One contention The Blast reported is that Hanks credits himself for popularizing the Jamaican patois.
It follows that the “Empire” actress appeared on the HBO talk show Ziwe Fumudoh, where she talked about her music and life. During the show, Ziwe asked the budding rapper if he still believed he “inspired” white boys to speak Patois.
Hanks replied, “I don’t know… I think I’m doing the Patois accent a little bit more… becoming a trend, I guess?” He added, “I was the first person to get it in conversation. Like recently.”
The interview got even more interesting when host Ziwe decided to explore Hanks’ knowledge of the language. The host asked “The Fantastic Four” actor if he knew what Jamaican slang “Small yourself up” meant.
A confused Hanks says he doesn’t know what that means. Hanks responded with a string of “I don’t know” when Ziwe asked him about more slang. The actor’s lack of response prompted the host to ask, “Do you speak Patois?” He bluntly replied, “No,” and confessed that he only knew a slang or two.

The Nigerian-born host asked the budding musician if he knew his song “White Boy Summer” was offensive. And the 32-year-old actor didn’t respond positively; he said he decided to make the song after getting a “fresh donkey haircut.”
Before the conversation ended, the talk show host asked the rapper if he wanted to apologize to any “marginalized communities.” Hanks replied, “No,” adding that he didn’t think he “did anything offensive.”
