Even today I am lucky to have some childhood friends. When we all meet, we relive our childhood memories and try to live those days again and again.
I have a younger brother and we used to live with my grandmother. There were a lot of kids in my neighborhood and we were all friends. I remember I had a fish tank, a dog and a cat that we loved. They are family and teach us love and how to care for others. My brother and I used to spend hours smearing mud and then we cleaned it up.
We also used to play childhood games like pretending to be teachers when our pets used to be our students and sometimes they were our guests and sometimes we just chased them for no reason. Today when I look back on those memories, I will only be filled with love, passion, and enthusiasm.
Every little thing used to arouse great curiosity in me. We used to make paper boats and compete with each other.

I remember winter was my favorite time. There was a blackout that day and before going to bed my grandmother used to light a candle, my brother and I hugged around her, and then one by one she used to tell us the story of Lord Krishna, a very cunning deer and the story of our Hindu gods.

Every night we used to urge him to repeat the same story and we used to listen to it with such curiosity that it was a new story even though we knew what was going to happen next. In the morning we get ready to play in the snow. Covering all the clothes, ready with our slides, we used to spend hours in the snow, making snowmen, throwing snowballs at each other, and sliding again and again until we were wet and cold. I am lucky to have a sweet comfortable home in the hills of Shimla where it snows heavily in winters.
Another great experience I had was the pleasure of attending my friend’s birthday party. There are more than 15 children in my neighborhood. On every birthday we always invite each other, cut the cake and used to dance until the night.

We also have boys and girls teams. We used to plan for every day so just like we planned for a big celebration, we used to prepare dance numbers for the occasion, spending hours deciding what we should gift our friends on their birthdays.
After giving them gifts, we often pester him asking for a few days how they liked our gifts or did they enjoy our dance performance. Even adults appreciate our fun and encourage us to add more to the birthday party.
They used to plan fun games for us which was icing on the cake. Every birthday party usually brings out an entertainer in us and the excitement of wearing new clothes can’t compare to the feeling I had today.
Then after school, we always make castles out of sand every, everything is used to amuse us, even a mouse that we used to catch. Every child had gathered to say goodbye to the mouse when we were about to set it free in the forest.
Those little things are beautiful and today when I think of them, I am filled with the innocence of my childhood. I have gained knowledge about many beautiful things like taking care of animals, appreciate every little thing that I have today from my grandmother.
I used to spend hours with my grandmother when the festival was approaching. She taught me cooking, kitting, and many creative things in my life. my grandmother had a huge impact on me since my childhood and because of her, I can proudly say I am a great human being with passion in my heart.
