Chirag Kotwal was born in 2001 (age 22; in 2023) in Bhaderwah, Jammu and Kashmir. He attended BSF Senior Secondary School, Jammu. He pursued a bachelor’s degree in engineering at Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (VJIT) in Mumbai, Maharashtra. He pursued singing training at the Ajivasan Music Academy in Mumbai.

He has participated in various singing shows. She auditioned for season 1 of the singing reality show ‘Indian Idol Junior’ in 2013.

In 2015, he participated as a contestant in Max i-genius Young Singing Stars Season II, which was held at the Taj Vivanta Hotel in Mumbai. He was rated second on the show and later, got the chance to sign a contract with Universal Music Group.
